One or both of Lin and Asik wont be here for next year's playoff, which is a pity as Asik is such a tremendous force on defense, Lin is talented and put his heart out all night long, simply not compatible w Harden.

What could have been with this group of guys if we had a slightly better coach ... They deserved better than going fishing this early. I bet JVG would scream in his mind that "are you ****ing kindding me with that 0.9s defense? I could send these guys to the 2nd like 2 games ago already."

Umm... I really don't think Melo would fit well in our offense AT ALL. A bunch of guys who want/need the ball in their hands to dribble around and shoot?

    Gross.

How is Anthony even an option? There is only one ball between him, Harden AND Howard. There is also only one player that plays D.

    My wish list:

    - New HC
    - Taller PG (someone who can matchup with CP, Russel Westbrook, Lillard, etc.)
    - Backup for Parsons (Garcia/Casspi/Hamilton just not cutting it)
    - New PF (Jones should come off the bench, is not a starter)

I'm pretty confident we'll be seeing Lin and Asik depart this offseason. Next season Lin and Asik are slated to make $14M after making 5M this season. I think both have demonstrated sufficient value in the market to demand some interest, especially for teams struggling at those positions. They will be missed, and I hope we can find a way to restructure their contracts and keep them, though I think Asik in particular would not be inclined to re-sign here.

Get a coach that preach fundamental basket. It is fundamental that will continue to screw up teams no matter how talents your team are. A coach that allow team to do whatever they want won't win Championship ...(see Adelman). A coach that preach discipline and fundamental wins Championship ( see Pop and Phil Jackson).

I actually think the Pacers would make a great trading partner. Hibbert is on the decline, I dont think he is their future at C and they will be looking to retool this offseason, especially if they lose to the Hawks. Asik for Scola and Turner would be a good deal imo.

Lin should be the starter. He was key to the 2 wins. Almost won game 1 with a great OT performance. Played excellent defense on Lillard, got into the lane and got the ball to Howard in the 4th quarter of game 6. Rockets should get a coach who will invest in developing the Harden-Lin backcourt. It could become elite.

Uh, enough with the Melo to Houston comments. We will be worse with him. We don't need him. New coach and better bench is what we need. Maybe a point guard a defensive mind set PG and tall too.

A big man who can actually shoot the basketball would help.

If Dwight gets injured, we're not winning anything so it doesn't matter either way, and we were significantly **** enough in the regular season without him that it barely mattered.

Really want Lowry. Would be huge.

Also need another player in the middle of the line-up that can play both ways. Luol Deng or Paul Millsap.

A couple vets who can hit the 3 and can play D wouldn't hurt, either.

He should have started this series. That doesnt mean he should be a starter. He is a very serviceable PG, great sixth man off the bench, but at the end of the day we need someone who can hang with tony parker, russel westbrook, lillard, chris paul, and the other elite pg's in the league, and Lin doesnt fit that bill.

    A - A solid defensive PF
B - Solve the Asik situation. He will not start here, he is our second center. In or out.
    C - Bench players.
    D - Bench players.
    E - Bench players.
    F to Z - Bench players.

That was always my thoughts when people want to keep Asik around in case Howard gets hurt.

Like you said, Howard is a star player... if he gets hurt the season is pretty much done anyway.

I'm with you unless we move Lin and Asik to get a 3rd star. If some crazy way we were able to get Melo on the cheap for one year, I'm all for starting him with Lin, Harden and the TT. With Asik and Dwight in the lineup, you need 3 other players on the court that all demand attention for 3 point shots or driving the lane. No SF in the league can guard Melo 1 on 1, no SG can guard Harden 1 on 1, and Lin can beat just about any guard off the dribble 1 on 1.

No matter what happens, Harden needs to give up the ball and ball handling duties more next year so that he can have some energy and focus on the defensive end, or we will never win a championship with him.

Honestly, the only player you could add to the roster who could win with Asik instead of Dwight in case of injury is Lebron, even Durant isn't good enough to compensate.

Lin completely shut down Parker, did an ok job with Lillard, had trouble with CP3 but who does not? You do not need a star player in each position. Again the issue with Lin goes back w his play style does not mix well w Harden. Getting Lowry back would be an upgrade on defense but if Harden still wants the majority of ball handling/playmaking, they will clash sooner or later; same goes for Rondo.

We need better team defense and a much better point guard.
