People aren't saying that Harden called for them to switch defenders, which isn't the same as switching on a screen. And no, Harden could not have switched onto Lillard on that play because Parsons wasn't in position to pick up Harden's man. With Parsons trailing, Jones was the only person who could have possibly picked up Lillard without giving up a wide open layup.
grrr ... so why did they obey Harden then? this team has no ****ing discipline. I think the freelance offense philosophy has messed with their BBIQ
So there was crying and gnashing of teeth in the locker room? I think there were recriminations and blaming and arguments going on. Maybe TJones got some of it, that's why he seemed to be crying. my God, how stupid can the players be?
This is all hearsay. We don't not for sure. That's why I'm hoping Clutch maybe can clear that up...or maybe someone who's really good at reading lips.
Guys watch the post game interview. McHale called parsons on Lillard. Harden was telling them to switch instead of going around. But they didn't.
Harden made them switch because he knew Lillard was getting a double screen. It would have been easier for Beverly to fight through one screen than 2. They weren't switching every screen, which is on McHale.
How about have some fcking strategy to prevent any screening from becoming effective such as playing zone? In other words, you assign a particular guy to follow any Portland player running out on one side and another to run after any Portland player running to the other side.
That's why McHale has to go. It should've been Lin on Lillard + we had a foul to give. Parsons on PGs has been one of numerous McHale failures this season. He doesn't recognize that Harden and Parsons are by far our worse two defenders
On the original set-up, Bev was on Lillard. That would have been better. Anyway Parsons no way should be 3feet behind Lillard.
I don't think Parsons is quick enough to guard Lillard. I'd rather have TJones guarding Lillard who is a great contester.
Parsons had his man before the play start, what confusion? Parsons admit he was slow on that first step. Harden switching shouldn't be a call, it is not Hardens fault Parson was slow to react. Lin should have been in but at the same time, Harden has showed his best defensive effort in this game, his defense was decent.
What about to try and limit his view? If he is jumping and waving his hand in the direction of a possible pass?
****ing Harden. All defensive player of the year Harden is calling our defensive setup? Da ****? This guy needs a reality check.
