    Turkey burgers > Turkey bacon

Turkey bacon is merely a plastic substance that somewhat tastes like food.

I see I'm not alone in my distaste for pickles.... I assumed most Americans couldn't get enough of them...

I also will not allow banana peppers or sauerkraut on a sandwich.... Nothing too vinegary or acidic... excluding Jalapeno peppers... It simply destroys the taste of the meats and cheeses... the main ingredients of any proper sandwich... it doesn't enhance the flavor...

To me its more tangy than sweet... I liked mayo when i was a kid but my then i tried some tuna with miracle whip instead of mayo and i was like wtf have i been dong my whole life.

I can handle mayo if someone gives it to me because i don't want to be rude but if i was making a sandwich i would eat it dry before i put mayo on it. But its all personal preference i guess.

I don't like any condiments on my sandwiches. They taste bad.

Onions, pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, meat, cheese, bacon. That's perfect.

This is 100% truth. I've been ruined on commercial tomatoes you'll find at restaurants, they just have no flavor and usually bad texture as well. There's a few local places around here that use good ones (and a Which Wich that seems to use quality ingredients as well).

I'm the same way with pickles too, now that I've figured out how to make them myself.

Those 2 plus Miracle Whip are the 3 that never go on any sammich or burger of mine. The others vary depending on the sandwich and what other ingredients are involved.

Interesting that a third don't like pickles and tomatoes yet they are standard on burgers.

This is true, especially pickles. Almost every burger and sandwich at Burger King comes with pickles. The burger bites at Golden Corral, Chili's, Applebee's all have them. The burger sitting under a heat lamp at a gas station has them. Deli sandwiches often come with a pickle on the side.

Only reason I can think of is pickles are easy to keep/maintain.

For most people the introduction of sourness complements very rich and fatty food by giving some sharpness to what would otherwise be mostly salty and oily. This is why pickles became popular on burgers, tartar sauce with fried fish and malt vinegar with British chips (fries) and on vinegar and salt potato chips.

You might just be more sensitive than others to the sourness or sensitive to vinegar.

Interesting. Only combo I'm down with is tarter sauce and fish.
