This quote from another thread made me think of an article I read a while ago:

This loss is McHale's fault completely. We are BY FAR the worst team in the NBA defensively coming out of a timeout.

this really explains a lot about why we can't get stops the last 2 minutes of games

    stats don't lie

Either Morey had collected some of the worst in bound defenders or McHale has no inbound defensive scheme

Notice the 2 worst playoff coaches, Brooks and McHale.

    What is Jones doing?????

The whole season depends on this play and he is 5 feet away from the inbounder and just waving his hands halfheartedly....

    right in front of McHale.

And Parsons is supposed to stick to Lillard. Right on his grill.

When Lillard caught that ball and turned around, Parsons should have been body to body with him.

    Just a defensive fail.

Lillard is faster and had Parsons beat. Jones doing nothing with .9 sec left.

Jones should never have been on the inbounder in the first place. If you absolutely MUST have someone guard the inbounder, it should have been Parsons as he's longer AND smarter. He wouldn't have just stood around, but instead would have provided weak side help.

Harden shouldn't have been on the floor. Your main concern is a 3 pointer, so you need someone who is able to fight over screens and anticipate off the ball movement.

Lin should have been on the floor. Lin + Bev are the only two players on the team with enough foot speed to have a hope of contesting Lillard or Mo off a brush screen, curl or switch.

So many things wrong with the final line up and assignments that it makes me sick.
