Lin is the better person, in truth. I've always viewed 7 foot giants as social freaks who would have no place in society were it not for the NBA. Anyone above around 6'4" or 6'5" is probably too tall. It just happens that the physics of this arbitrary game, basketball, so favors height heavily.
