Not bad actually. Eddie Griffin, 2 second rounders, and Glen Rice for Brian Grant and the #5 sounds good. But I don't think Riley is interested in Griffin.
great trade, but the TJ idea sucks. He was a good college PG, but his jumper sucks. just what we need.....another guy to jack up bricks.
How about this. I have heard that Denver may consider trading it's #3 pick. What if the Rockets sent Rice, Griffin, and our second rounder to Miami and sent Nachbar to Denver. Miami sends #5 to Denver and Grant to Houston. Denver sends #3 to Houston and Camby to Miami. Not too sure how it would work capwise. Other players may and/or picks my have to be involved. Looks like this Miami trades: Brian Grant #5 Pick Miami recieves: Glen Rice Eddie Griffin Houston's Second Round Pick Marcus Camby Denver trades: Marcus Camby #3 Pick Denver recieves: Bostjan Nachbar #5 Pick Houston trades: Glen Rice Eddie Griffin Bostjan Nachbar Secound Round Pick Houston recieves: Brian Grant #3 Pick
no way. Grant is just an average 4 with a superstar salary. If you think Mo's salary is outrages, Grant will make around 11.5 mill. next year until it gets to over 15 mill. in the 2006/7 season. That would average out over 20 mill. a year on two barely average power forwards. Too much money over too many seasons, not worth the pick.
What if the Rockets traded Moochie Norris, Eddie Griffin, and our second rounder, plus possibly a future pick, to Seattle for Brent Barry and the #12 pick. With that pick, we could probably land Sofoklis Schortsanitis who could end up being that banger that we need at the 4. Other possibilities here may be Mike Sweetney, Nick Collison, or David West. Just an idea.
Wow, Eddie Jones and Brain Grant? That's piss...Eddie Griffin is better than both of them. And why would we want a 5-10 PG? I'm not a fan of trades that makes us worst, so I don't like this one.
One of you guys should sign up to be the Rockets GM at this Usenet NBA Draft http://www.ibiblio.org/craig/draft/usenet.html
On the real, TJ is going to be a great NBA PG. The guy is small, but 5'9'' is ridiculous. I am 6' and he wasn't much shorter than me if he was shorter at all (I had a class with him in the fall). UT is one of the few college teams that measures players barefoot so TJ's height won't go down like many other college's players do in the combine. Anyway, this kid is going to be nasty and I hope we don't pull a Rashard Lewis on him if we can get him.
I'd do this. I'd like.. http://www.nbadraft.net/profiles/pavelpodkolzine.htm "Pavel Podkolzine Birthdate: 1/15/85 NBA Position: Center Ht: 7-4 Wt: 300 Int Team: Metis Varese Hometown: Novosibirsk, Russia Telebasket Profile Stats Podkolzine, the guy who had limited playing time in U-16 championships in 2001, who was not good enough for Russian U-18 NT in 2002 and who likely would have been forgotten by Russians has impressed Italians very quickly. Siberian bear from Novosibirsk is a developing big man whose best days are ahead of him. Podkolzine can block shots and rebound. He is in the process of gaining more confidence in his low post moves. Podkolzine is still learning the game, but he's got a lot to offer - starting with his huge frame. Physical and aggressive in the paint, with development he could become a load to defend and tough to score on. -Mindaugas Veromejus "
Milicec was laughing when that Russian was brought up as an NBA prospect. He said that the guy can barely move, much less play pro ball. I don't know how true that is, but that sure doesn't bode well for him.
Anybody think that Cicago would do Glen Rice, Eddie Griffin, Moochie Norris, and possibly our second round pick for Jalen Rose and their #7 pick?
Sure, if EG was Jermaine O'Neal. I don't see EG commanding that type of return in the market. If in your scenario, we are to trade EG, then substitute Mobley's name for Moochie and you're talking a better talent swap. No way they give up a 7 and take Moochie's contract. I'm not looking at the salaries and not even thinking this all the way through, because I don't care that much. I'm just a sniper, knocking off hopeless trade ideas from afar. No offense...I'm just saying.
Why does everyone in Houston want to blame all the Rockets woes on Cutino and Steve. I agree they make lots of mistakes and dribble too much at times but Cutino was pretty consistent this year. He was less selfish then in previous years. I mean Mobley can play a perfect game and Houston fans will pile on him and blame him for everything that went wrong in the game. The same thing goes for Francis. How about piling on Mo Taylor who slept through the first half of the season, and moochie who can't even make a layup or Eddie Griffin who looks like he's lost and uniterested or Posey who can't hit a three if his life depended on it or Larry Smith who ruined the rotation once Rudy left for treatment. I think those guys should take some heat for a change. Every team in the league would kill to have a steve Francis but Houston fans want to trade him. Steve is so athletic and explosive. I think he will eventually be better than Jason Kidd once he matures and realizes that it is a team game and that you need your teamates to win in this league ala Micheal Jordan. So quit all this trade mobley and steve talk. Why get Brian Grant when you can go after someone that is just as productive and cheaper in P.J. Brown. I think he would be perfect in Houston.
Maybe if Pat Riley is thinking he'll take the Rockets job, he'll do this trade, then quit Miami and come coach here. That's the only way this trade happens unless Riley starts smoking crack.
