Tonight I watched the Spurs beat the Mavs to go on to the finals...

They came back from a double digit deficit...

I hope the Rockets can get back to this level of excitement. There were glimpses this last season of greatness. I hope our new coach can groom this team to contend with the current elite.

The Rockets have some great pieces to the championship puzzle.

This post doesn't present any new provocative ideas, however, I hope the Rockets determination grows... Whatever it takes.

    I like Francis and Yao.

We all talk S**T, but this team could do it.

Hopefully we get a coach who wants a championship as much as us the fans want one.

I'm excited for the Spurs, I really got behind them. But nothing would compare to the Rockets being in the same position.

As usual, my trade idea: Moochie for KG, Mobley for Kobe. The alternative to these trades, is for our current roster to play each game like it's their last.

Anyways. If you watched any Rockets games, they were pretty exciting. Since we sucked at first quarters.....we always had to comeback. It was exciting to me......unless we were getting blown out. I hope we win a championship with Steve and Yao. So who would you like as coach?

ok...i must admit I was cheering on the spurs as well. Mostly because of the way Dallas beat up on the Rockets and because Kevin Willis is on the spurs. He deserves a ring.

Agreed, K.Willis deserves that ring. If for no other reason than being in exceptional physical shape for a 90-year-old man...

However, I just can't cheer for the Spurs. Living in Central Texas like I do (Austin), you get force-fed the Spurs CONSTANTLY. And the reporting is far from unbiased. From reading the local press, you would think the Spurs sh*t doesn't stink.

Of course, on the other hand, any true Houstonian should always root against the city of Dallas (how 'bout them Texans in the Texas Bowl last season? Whoo-hoo!!!), so I'm really torn. I guess I'll root for *shudder* the Nets.

Dallas is the sworn enemy of any Houston fan. When I grew up, my dad always hated the Dallas Cowboys. In the early 90's at least we could make fun of the Mavs.... Now we get to make fun of the Cowboys.

As a Rocket fan, it's been hard watching this series seeing how the other Texas teams have left the Rox in the dust. That's why I'm so excited about a coaching change because with direction, the Rox have some pieces in place to contend. But the old habits of Rudy ball are going to be hard to break.

We'll be okay next year. Any good coach will set the ground rules right away. Any nonsense will not be tolerated. It's a regime change and any nonsense will be waived, traded, or whatever.

I was really impressed by the Spur's players and management after their previous loss. In the post game they accepted blame for sloppy play, and credited the Mavericks with getting the rebounds because they wanted them more.

Don't they know this is the NBA. Losers are supposed to cry like little girls about the officiating. Just as the Lakers.

i feel you on that, but this is a special case. we as rocket fans should be cheering for the spurs just cause kevin willis. i have nothing but respect for that man and i hope he gets a ring. remember, when he came to houston when we got barkley, he took a pay-cut just so he could compete for a ring. ill never forget his quote "if anyone messed with hakeem or charles they got to answer to me!" ive been a kevin willis fan ever since. he never got his ring and we shipped him to the raptors. i realize that's buisness, but kevin deserved better than that.

if barkley worked half as hard as kevin than maybe he would have gotten his ring.

    go spurs and go kevin!

Screw Kevin Willis, Walt Williams and any other Rocket that is now on the Spurs, Mavs, or Jazz.

If the Rockets weren't so sorry this year I might have been able to watch and discuss some Rockets playoff ball. But instead I have to hear everyone's lame trade idea or why they want this or that coach for the 1000th time. This board is good for the first hour after news breaks, or the first hour after a game. Then it is constant retread.

I am a fan of the Rockets.

I am a fan of NBA Basketball as well.

But I'm PRETTY sure the Rockets weren't in the conference finals this year and I'm not going to watch a game and not pick a team to root for. I'm not an official. The Spurs were a cooler team. Plus, you know, I hate all Dallas teams.

nWo, ok, I am now envisioning you in your apt/house that is entirely constructed of Rockets Memorabilia. You answer the phone: "Rockets". You order take-out: "I want Rockets, with some of that umm....Rockets sauce on it". Oh, and before you go to a game, you paint your entire body with that ugly pinstripe design.

    just kidding dude. lighten up.
