Did Harden not bring us home in game 5

    I'm so lost.

This is what I thought I saw:
    3:58
    Houston
    Layup by James Harden
    3:39
    Portland
Damian Lillard drives to the hoop for a layup
    3:16
James Harden makes a 26-foot three-pointer from the top of the arc.

We were up 2 points, Harden scores 5, we play some D, game.

I'm quite sure the only other person who scored in the game (from 3 minutes to the end) was this:
    2:11
    Layup by Terrence Jones

Harden hit FTs, and we go from 98-96 to 108-98.

I fail to see why now, all of a sudden, he shouldn't be our 'closer'?? He did a good enough job of it in a game where he couldn't find his shot if it poked him in the eye...

Why is that? Should it be the person with the best shot?

No, because sports science is showing that the effects of adrenalin on the body cause people to shoot much more poorly than the would normally do.

So you want someone who has a track record of delivering a basket to take the shot down the last few minutes.
It is why every single NBA team runs an ISO play for their best 'closer' in the dying moments of an NBA game. The smartest play gives them a 'bail out' or a second option to switch the ball to quickly.
Either we don't do that, or we DO, but our players are too inexperienced to capitalize.

Harden has won that honour with his clutch play this season - can't believe lin is winning this.

I'd go harden, parsons, Dwight (if possible), lin

I have to go with James just because he has done it before and you ride or die with your "superstar" even though the way he has been shooting lately makes me hesitant.

If it is some kind of broken play or something in all honesty i would want the ball to go to Daniels, I just think he has the confidence and the stroke to hit the game winner!

I would go with Harden, however I'd be so happy to have Daniels run off picks to be open - wouldn't complain in the slightest.

Whoever is open. I think everyone that plays for the most part is capable of making that big shot.

I'd run a play that starts with it going to harden, then the double comes and boom, I'm passing it to Troy Daniels.

Otherwise Harden, otherwise nobody. Sorry Parsons. You can shoot my last shot in the third quarter though if you like.

Daniels in pass away, Parsons and Beverly in each corner, Howard/Harden pnr.

Parsons and Beverly are great from the corner, Daniels is one pass away.

open man should shot it. please give the ball to the open man, either

    1. Daniel
    2. Either LIN or Bev
    3. Parson.
    4. Harden (why 4th, won't be easy to find open space and he still in shooting slump)
    5. Or give the ball to the paint (Dwight or Asik)
