No... OMA is right... You risk putting Howard in foul trouble... If Asik is out, you have to hope Jones can hold down the fort as long as possible.

Was on BlazersEdge a week ago and the Blazer fans were wondering why we weren't using DMO. Aldridge has shot a low percentage against legit 7 footers this season there is no reason why DMO shouldn't have gotten a crack at guarding LMA.

Well I think Matthews and Batum have a lot to do with that... Have to give Hardin credit for last night, he played decent D and changed his role to facilitator. A superstar finds ways to help his team win.

For the rest of this series, hell yeah. Let them rot. The 8 guys we're running with now, I trust for this particular matchup.

Next series (WHEN we win), new story, new rotation. Casspi and Hamilton deserve to stay buried. Donuts and Garcia could be useful in certain situations.

Tjones is great off the bench, I dont want to see him running into the post to be a hero ball player. All I want him to do is grab rebounds and play some defense. that's all i can ask for of him. the shots should go to other players - parsons lin and harden and dwight in the post. if tjones could run pnr maybe i could consdier him playing a bigger role but i havent really seen him do that so i dont know how that is with him

Those guys are all scrubs save for the occasional Jordan Hamilton 3 pointer.

Motiejunas and Casspi are especially terrible.

DMo is the Jeremy Lin of PF. While he plays hard all the time, he is wildly inconsistent. Sometimes he's brilliant when he is confident. But most of the times he plays scared and does not contribute much on offense. Unlike the PG situation, we have more options at the 4. Asik is playing well this series. So DMo is sitting on the bence.

I do think he is a better man defender and defensive rebounder than Jones.

Depends on the matchups. I think Asik will play alot if we play Spurs or Memphis or even Thunder a bit but not as much against the Warriors or Clippers or Dallas. I can see D Mo or Jones playing more against this line ups.

Also we know Garcia will play more if we face the Thunder so he can help guard Durant.

Looks like Portland's been using a 9 sometimes even 10 man rotation.

You would think that D-Mo would at least have played in one game. They could at least try him out there defending Lopez. Just try.

DMo's defense was pretty bad to end the season.

What series are you watching? They both are playing well. TJones nor any of those guy can cover Aldridge. Parson has played better than he does in the regular season other than his 3-point percentage. 20 points and 42% FG for all but two games, sounds way better than Harden.

Playoffs should have a tight rotation of your best players. Hamilton hasn't been able to hit threes. The rest of the guys you mentioned suck and are there in case an achilles decides to blow out like hydrogen at the Fukushima Daiichi.

Garcia is a veteran and has proved his usefulness against the Thunder last year, yet he still gets no burn.

It's dam bull**** that these players don't get any burn. I'm most upset over the fact that DMO gets no chance to show his talents off.

I think it's too late now to play these guys, and it is a damn shame. DMO's talents have been wasted to the greatest extent. He has so much potential and Mchale has squandered all of it away.

your talking about last year. its all about matchups. in the playoffs the rotation is much tighter. a rotation of 8 is perfect.

If we could make it to the next round, they may get a chance. But I don't think we will see them in this series.

For whoever says no other guys are deserving, Garcia has proven he can defend and we could've used defensive players in times when Harden and Parsons were useless on that end. If a defensive minded veteran cannot get minutes in this series so far, he will probably not get any the whole playoffs..I just cannot believe it, cause there have been so many times our wings have defended horribly.

Its called McHale is coaching scared & over-conservative. He's barely trusting Jones with any PT when Jones has been the 4th or 5th best player on the team pretty much all season long, and is playing well in the minutes he has been given. That tells you alot about where this team is in their development as a young unit, and where the head of the coach is at.

D-Mo, Jones, etc. make mistakes that are typical of young players in the NBA, and McHale has no trust in them as well.

As for Garcia, Hamilton, etc.... Daniels is a much better shooter than any of them which should be obvious. As long as he's not hurting the team defensively, it should be no shock that McHale is going with Daniels over these guys.

However, McHale isn't the first Rockets coach to have weird "trust issues"... Adelman was notorious for not trusting certain players, and trusting some players almost automatically. First impressions went a long way with Adelman, and it looks like McHale is carrying on the tradition as well.

(probably a better off season convo but....)For some of these guys to grow and develop, Morey has had to, and will continue to have to force the coach to play these guys by trading the "comfort foods" if he feels like the players not getting PT should, and the team would be better off in the long run with that player getting minutes. We've seen that happen multiple times over Morey's tenure with the Rockets.
