Yes at least with Harden we have had consistent performance in the Playoffs, both offensively and defensively.
Lin unfairly crucified as Lin throws himself under the bus “I felt like I needed to be more of a spark tonight,” Lin said. “I haven’t done a great job of that this series.” “We needed him,” McHale said. “They were trying to pressure him all over the place and he broke the pressure down and got in the paint and hit a couple floaters.”
I like the team more when Lin gets to play PG. Not sure if it is my imagination but the whole team seems to be more involved, more swarmy, more rocking. Nothing against JHarden but as a unit, my preference is for JLin as the PG. Also cos I dont think he's all that good as a SG. PBev? I've never seen PBev as a PG. A great teammate, a pesky defender but as much of a PG as Grizz Tony Allen is a PG. I wonder when Lin does play PG, is it cos McHale says, Play PG? I would imagine so, and not a decision he makes himself.
Lin played very well Game 5, but I'll trust him from the totality of his play over the course of the season.. inconsistent and sometimes out of control. He'll have good games and bad ones.. hopefully more good.
Bunch of flip flopping pansies on Clutch Fans. I would hate to depend on any of the Lin haters around here in a fight. Type of guys even if they were carrying 9MM that would run even if the other guy only pulled out a knife. lol
If only it were that simple . Like anyone else on this young team, it's hard to tell how he will perform from one game to the next (or sometimes even one quarter to the next). I don't expect him to go for 20+ every game, but I'd settle for making good decisions and protecting the ball. Assists and baskets instead of turnovers is a good plan. All these "If he'd get more playing time he'd be great" and "If McHale would play him right" people are delusional. This team can be great, but they aren't always sure how to make this new machine fire on all cylinders. We need guys to be smart and make good decisions with the ball when things aren't running smoothly, and that's where he sometimes pushes too hard and makes bad decisions. I think this is something that will improve with these guys with time. Let's hope this was a sign of progress, and not just a swing of the pendulum. Last night was the first we really looked like we were playing our game for extended periods in this series. Hopefully they are getting a feel for what it takes to be consistent enough to beat this tenacious Portland team. I think we are the better group of assembled players, but until last night we hadn't been able to play consistently as a team. While the assists went up quickly (more so than I was realizing) we still need to get back to better ball movement, and more importantly, moving better without the ball. I thought last night we started to show signs of what our best is. Let's hope that's a sign of our progress, because well all know they haven't seen us, as a team, play our best basketball yet.
I can appreciate his great play from last night, but I am pretty sure if we end up in an identical situation as game 4, IE under a minute to play, tie game, he has the ball in his hands, my gut feeling is he is going to blow it. So no, I do not trust Lin.
Against the Blazers? Yeah. I don't know if ya'll noticed, but the Blazers are almost as bad as the Rockets defensively. Lin has had no problem getting to the rim, he's just been awful at finishing his layups until last night. Against a better defensive team well... we'll see.
we're still down 3-2, should have been up 3-2, so the only way he can redeem himself is if he puts in another game 5 like performance in game 6. we don't have to win the series because his mistake didn't cost us the series, it cost us the chance to presently be one win away. we just need to get back to that point. then he gets a reset and will be judged accordingly in game 7, like all the others.
