This is the time of year I regret NOT using my teaching degree. :( Especially since my sister and mother are both teachers and love to rub it in every summer.

Congrats FT! I think teaching is one of the most valuable jobs and a long summer break is a just reward for the service you provide for the community.

The Long Change Shift Worker's schedule involves a 28 days cycle that has an employee working 7 night shifts of 12 hours each, 7 days shifts of 12 hours each, and 14 days off each cycle. The last 7 days off are consecutive and are known as the "long change". So in effect, a shift worker on this schedule has a 7 day vacation every month. This is in addition to 160 hours (or about 14 days) of paid vacation that can be tied in to the long change to create several 2 or 3 week vacations per year.

Have I mentioned yet that refinery operators such as myself make about 2-3 times as much money as your average school teacher, yet do one-tenth as much work?

    :) :p

Behad, of course FT doesn't have to worry about his school randomly exploding, and the only poisonous gas he has to worry about is that smelly kid in the second row that farts all the time...:)
