I read the entire thread without reading the actual tweet, ready to pounch on LJ. After reading the quote, it just sounds like a somewhat clumsy call to black self-empowerment. The title makes it sound like he wants to kick out the J.J. Reddicks.

Sterling says he doesn't want blacks at his teams games & that's racist. Johnson wants an all black NBA - players & owners. How's that not racist!?!

No, there are too few white and Asians in the NBA.

We ought to have affirmative action for the NBA-minorities.

Larry Johnson did not say that he wanted an all black league. His statement was more about empowerment for black people because he feels they can't get a fair shake in a league run by white people. I took it as him taking a BET or FUBU route to basketball. It's a bad solution to a problem but black empowerment is not the same as Donald Sterling's supremacist views. One person came up with a bad solution on how to get his race treated equally while the other is trying to say that his race is better than another.

For the all-star game, how about Black vs White instead of East vs West? LOL

That would keep Lin out of the vote, hence not have the crazy high Chinese vote putting Lin over Black (or White) PG's.

haha, what a stupid racist idea.

Larry is right. Have an All-Black league where they don't get paid; just traveling expenses. They play for FREE because they are Free men. It's a great idea. Everyone gets trophies at the end of the year.

Which itself is a racist statement/view.

But a view that actually has some truth behind it based on history. It's still going on in college football. The LJ solution is bad but there is still a problem out there.

So, Grandmama wants a return to "seperate but equal".

I wonder what Dr. King would think of that?

Yeah, did no one read the tweet/article? Wasn't very "cryptic" at all. He's just talking about more African American owners, coaches, execs, etc.
