Those who think Lin uniquely screwed up in the last stages of a game should also note: 1) In game 3, Harden committed a TO that would've given the Blazers the last shot in a tie game. Luckily, Lin and Daniels bailed him out. 2) In game 4, Harden wasn't even trying to stop Batum from getting easily lay-ups in the last minute of the game. Luckily for him, Howard bailed him out with a huge block. 3) In game 4, Beverley killed any chance for Houston to come back when he turned the ball over in the last possession of OT. The game was still tie-able with plenty of time left on the clock and Daniels on the floor. Luckily for him, Lin bailed him out by garnering all the attention from LOHs with his admittedly big mistake earlier. Lin was unlucky in that unlike all those other times his teammates screwed up, there was no one to bail him out, even though the Rockets had over 5 minutes afterwards to beat the Blazers.
Thanks for the post, but nothing new here. Surprising Sampson didn't say anything about Haren's D being the former defensive coordinator.
Harden's defense attitude really made me pissed off!!! When you brick like ****, but you still don't want to move your ass to defense? worst star I have ever seen.
Its hard to be so selfish and exert so much energy on the offensive end and play defense as well. The coaches know this and have conscientiously let it go, why do you think Beverley is such a good fit next to Harden.
When James can't get going on offense, he's the worst player on the court. The problem is, he's been the worst player on the court far longer than the best in this series.
Harden probably averaging 40 minutes per game in the series. And he's usually the worst the player on the court for about 32-34 of those minutes. It's really frustrating watching him play and being nonchalant.
2009er so not an LOF but even when Harden seems like the worst player on the court because he's not going offensively, he still gets a lot of attention. Remember when PTB were doubling him without the ball and Dwight had an open lane to the bucket for a dunk? Even defensively, he is not the WORST PLAYER. Parsons is the worst defensive player on the court when he's in there which is about 45min a game. And don't forget Lin when he makes a mistake for those few seconds, he is the worst on court. So Harden is NOT THE WORST PLAYER ON THE COURT.
That's what franchise superstars have to do though. You don't see the likes of LeBron or Kobe or CP3 making that excuse to slack off on defense. James Harden certainly wants to be universally regarded as a franchise superstar. He'll have to become a better 2-way player then, even if it means sacrificing his offensive game somewhat.
They all suck pretty bad, mchales clueless Lin is a dumbass and hardens shooting worse than someone who is very inaccurate, parsons has regressed so fae defensively it isn't funny. BUT LEGGO GAME 5 LOL they may be flawed but they are ROCKETS
offensively i think harden is one of the best players in the league. he is definitely predictable at times but even still he is very very good. I am just banking that he will figure out the defense and all the other stuff at some point. i am just not a fan of westbrook's game. I recognize the athletic talent but that's it.
that is alot of awful shooting from alot of the stars. I know nene was beasting but its crazy the wizards beat chicago with wall shooting 36%.
because hes not made for the nba, he should become a professor. nba aint made for him. Just kidning. But really Lin is not made for NBA.
Harden has made it easy for Portland to key in on him defensively by sticking Wes Matthews on him. Harden has a tough time getting around him and when he does get by Matthews, Matthews isn't reaching and forcing Harden to finish through contact, which he is not doing well atm. Funny thing is Portland also keys in on offense through J. Harden.... Portland playbook: Option 1: Get LMA good look Option 2: Give the ball to whoever Harden is guarding and go to work How can you sustain leads when there is a giant leak in your team's defensive philosophy? Blazers are blowing right by Harden forcing others to rotate and scramble defensively. The team that has to scramble the most is the team that is going to lose the game, and ultimately the series.
This is a bit much don't you think. I see Harden's man blow past him 5 -6 times a game AT THE MOST. A team takes 50-60 shots a game so that is miniscule and doesn't affect the game that much.
