    It literally never occurred to me that Sterling might be Dem or a Repub. My first thoughts were gee, what an assholey old racist.

    It obviously occurred to Repubs though.

    And it turns out that he's an assholey old racist who doesn't spend much of his money on politicians and doesn't seem to be engaged with politics.

    Face it, the NBA is a black pro sports league. Has been and will be. The NBA cannot afford to have 85% of their players go on some sort of refusal to play or to put forth little effort while they act offended. That group is always trying to find something to be offended about. So, without fully letting this work through some semblance of a process, they did their knee jerk to appease the players.
