Because dumbass McHale just went to Dwight every possession. McHale is so predictable. He finds something that works and he does it every possession, doesn't adjust once it starts failing, and we choke away huge leads because McHale is a stubborn idiot. I bet you next game McHale does something stupid like draw up 20+ shots for Daniels and we lose.
He did seem to quit when the Rockets got down 7 in OT. I wouldn't say he quit in the 4th though. Either way, the team needs to understand that you never give up til the final buzzer sounds. Shoot, they were down 5 with a little over 2 1/2 minutes left in regulation and went on a 7-0 run. Then they were down 7 in OT and actually had a chance to tie or take the lead(unfortunately Harden f'ed that up with a terrible desperation three that bricked).
It comes with being a superstar. You're allowed a pass by McFail on effort, defense, and turnovers when you are an offensive juggernaut in the regular season.
harden has been playing the same defense all year (Just Turrible)... So complaining about it is not going to change everything... But when he's hot he more than makes up for the piss poor D.... T_Man
He had 4 fouls at that time. Besides Bev intentional fouled him way back before halfcourt but refs didn't want call it...
He didn't quit. Matthews is shutting Harden down so far. He can't get to the rim, can't get open jump shots, and isn't getting calls from the refs when he penetrates. McHale recognizes that so he's trying to go to Howard, who has an advantage. The problem is that Howard isn't used to that yet, because the uptempo style hasn't gotten him enough touches. So, we need to try and play this style moving forward because we now have better talent and need to rely on statistics about wins and losses in the NBA. But Harden did not quit. His coach realized he wasn't being efficient scoring the ball even with top notch effort and moved on to the next guy. It's decent coaching.
Looked dejected once they were down 7 in OT, but he never quit, and he didn't look out of it at the end of the 4th. They don't even make it to OT without his offense at the end.
His defensive effort has been PATHETIC the whole season. 100% on McHale for letting him get away with it.
Got fouled in the OT on that 3 made the assist to Howard to force it into OT went to the basket and got laid by LMA with no call I would say yeah, he quit
He started to check out when we went down 7 in OT, but he wasn't the only one. I thought they all did a pretty good job of quickly bouncing back.
Watching Harden, especially early in the game, there were times that I was reminded of the "toronto game" and the times Kobe would be passive for an entire half (or game?) after he'd get criticized for shooting too much. But I think Harden started getting into it after a few shots fell late. He's definitely gotta pick it up for the full game though. His defense has been pretty awful. I'm hoping the Mo Williams trash talk gets him fired up.
Probably felt betrayed that he could work his ass off to get Houston the lead again only to see his teammate Lin completely crap all over our series rally.
the player are playing like 2 teams. One head by JH, the other by DH. There is no integration or system to mesh these players together. Plus, Harden plays too many minutes in the game and is less effective towards the end.
