The funniest part of the audio is when Sterling says (paraphrased) "I don't care if you want to ***** Magic, just don't bring him to my games!"

Meh that doesn't mean much though.

After all, some slave owners had sex with their slaves. Not saying Sterling is that level of racist, just goes to show you can still be plenty racist and attracted to another race like that.

Listening to the audio it makes it sound like in this case that he's more worried about what some racist friends he has may think of him. Although I have no doubts that Sterling is a racist man with his history and this latest reveal.

Will be very surprised if he's still owning the team and Clipper fans better hope that is the case. It's blown up entirely now and as long as he owns that team there will be pressure for black players signing there.

Yes yes "This was always known and CP3 still went there!" it was known by people that heavily follow the NBA...it wasn't really known by others outside of it.

Now if Sterling is still the owner and they are trying to court some player you better believe there will be outside pressure for that player to look elsewhere. His friends, family, etc will be telling him to look elsewhere. Before it could be brushed aside, but now it's a national story and everyone knows about it.

You think stern or silver didn't know this POS was a racist? It's infuriating to me that this scumbag makes MILLIONS off black players yet hates them so much?

The girl set up the conversation and taped it. They fought prior and she got a tape recorder and set up the entire conversation. You can tell by her voice.

It's funny, because if these allegations came to light without the audio the first thing ignorant ppl say are "Racist? I doubt it. Doesn't he have a mixed GF? Isn't the coach black?, No way that guy's a racist. Blacks playin the race card again as usual" lol.

Man there are more Donald Sterling's in the world than MLK's. Aslong as ppl point fingers and name call without caring to know the facts, ppl like Sterling will always think like this. This been going on TOO LONG for some ppl to act surprised

Sterling just sounds like a slightly senile man who doesn't really know exactly what he's going on about half the time in that recording. And I would guess that his mistress lets him ramble on just to have an audio recording that she could use against him. Half his answers to her questions are off tangent and incomprehensible. ("Did you know I was mixed?" "No, I did not know that. I thought you had it removed...")

It doesn't excuse him for his racism, obviously, but the whole thing is just pathetic, particularly the fact that an organization would have to address such an issue to begin with.

The test is whether he'd allow his daughter to marry a black or latino man. And whether those grandchildren would receive their share of the inheritance.

Why would you spend a moment of your time splitting hairs over his degree of hatefulness?

One would think Doc Rivers and CP3 are two people heavily following the NBA, yet they still chose to sign on the the dotted line for that team.

It doesn't matter that some people not paying attention to the basketball world were oblivious to the years or Sterling's disgusting behavior. This is an open secret in the NBA and you can be sure plenty of people within the NBA or close to it have known about Sterling's antics for years.

I can't believe Obama weighed in on this -- he just couldn't help himself. But after weighing in far too early on the George Zimmerman issue, and then being dead wrong about it when all the facts came out, you'd think Obama would have learned his lesson to wait for the facts. When you sling the race card, you darn sure better make sure it's justified because the court of public opinion convicts people of racism as soon as the threat is made. Seems like an irresponsible thing to do, especially for someone in power. Silver took a much smarter, more measured response.

Sorry to beat a dead horse, but Zimmerman was guilty of at least involuntary manslaughter.

He could show up in a KKK outfit and as long those players were getting paid they'd make some statements and then doing nothing about it.
