Tbh, shld we really hold men of power to a different standard?? Rap culture, even after they've become millionaires, portray whites as old money bad guys who still have slave owner beliefs .. Isn't jay z a minority owner? Do we endorse selling crack and shooting guns too??

    Looking for answers

Jay z articulates thug politics - sell crack cocaine, shoot guns, rap, buy expensive champagne and celebrate once you made it out

Where is the uproar over that?

jay-z isn't even an owner anymore and he only owned less than 1$ of the nets.

How this situation plays out will tell us something about the powers that be in this politically correct society.

OTOH, I really don't see how Sterling can continue as owner of the Clippers. The internet firestorm will make it far worse than Marge Schott. It is not going to go away.

And not sure it's possible to get rid of the owner. Perhaps it's not legally possible to make him sell.

Moreover, I think a guy like this has protection. He's been too big for too long to not have a lot of very powerful backers and allies. But I cannot see them letting him stay in place, either.

But the NBA always works with him and he has a strong reach within "that" demographic. You want to enforce rules be consistent across the board

I DO NOT CONDONE WHAT STERLING ALLEGEDELY SAID, NO ONE DOES

But other NBA affiliates have views just as piss poor and they say it openly in public.

Don't forget constant gay slurs, gun violations and mar1juana endorsement

Unfortunately, homophobia isn't as taboo in our society as racism is. Gun violations? Okay... mar1juana? mar1juana may be illegal, but its not because it is ethically wrong.

there is the difference between the nba working with an entertainer and a majority owner of a basketball team saying racist things and having a history of racism in a league full of minorities and being the boss of those minorities.

does kobe condone the killing of us troops because he helped market call of duty? no.

typical spin job. not talk about the issue at hand but go to "b-b-b-b-b-but he did this" finger pointing

Sterling's an racist idiot. But I don't agree with drawing an analogy to slaves with basketball players getting paid millions.

That's a demagogue move. David West should worry about fixing the mess that is the Pacers instead of trying to be a politician.

Atleast Lebron is sitting nice and comfy with a 3-0 lead so I'm fine with that.

i don't think the analogy was comparing athletes to slaves but more sterling having the same mindset as a slave owner.

making money of the nba players yet he hates them and doesn't consider them equals.

What about having babies with all your road groupies? Constant affairs? Adultery isn't a sin if you can AFFORD it right☹☹☹
Thing is sterling is your typical ok white racist got, buy those are few and far between. They're dying out. Whereas the other violaters seem to be growing in numbers. Let the teams keep that in mind before they let a stupid issue like this distract them from ball.

What is wrong with you. Ppl are talking about the hypocrisy of rivers and Paul pretending this is a NEW thing. I'm pointing out that hypocrisy with other issues as well .. Its all about what strikes an emotional chord as opposed to RIGHT and WRONG. The gop is over. Whites are a minority and 99% of them, outside the southern countryside, do not harbor any elitist slave owner feelings.

He probably has the mindset of a shrewed business owner who's top priority is making a profit, rather than a slave owner. Still he's a POS of a human being, all around, from his reputation of his business practices and this latest racism aspect doesn't help at all.

I think all business owners consider their employees as 'resources' or investments to ultimately turn profit, and don't necessarily see them as "equals" to the owners themselves. However, you would expect a certain amount of respect from your boss, as another human being.
