i just read this at the rumor mill on hoopsworld.com...

since james is going to the cavs, it seems like miles is the odd man out.

i not sayin the rox should go out and get him but you gotta admit it sounds intriguing. miles for griffin?

Miles is a poor man's Eddie Robinson. Let's leave it at that.

At least Griffin can block shots. Miles can do **** on the court. I've never understood the hype surrounding him and personally would not even want him on my bench.

If I were the Cavs I would not give up on Miles just yet. I think having a player like James coming in that can be a super passer would do wonders for Miles' game. Look what Kidd's game does for K-mart and RJ! Because of Kidd's passing he gets those guys lots of easy looks at the basket. Neither of them are great one on one players. I think James could do the same thing for Miles' game. Miles did well in LA when he had teammates that could create things and pass to him or have him run on the fast break. Miles in Cleveland had to do things one on one and that is not his game. He needs a playmaker to help him out.

If I were the Cavs I would look to dump Ricky Davis on someone. He is the malcontent on the team. Your line up would look like this then

    James
    Wagner
    Miles
    Boozer
    Z

That is a pretty decent lineup.

Thinking like that would work if Davis wasn't better than Miles and Wagner.

Davis is a better player but is he better for the team? IMO, Davis's game would not fit well if the Cavs focus their offense on LB & Z. Davis has a Mobley type contract and the deficiencies which may exist in Wagner and Miles may be diminished with an incoming player whose game fits better with Ilgauskas and James.

Miles suck. His shot is really broke. 'oh he can work on it' you say? well he has had what 2 years to work on it and haven't shown improvement....it's sad...he was supposed to be the '2nd coming of Jordan'

    Miles is an interesting player.

The guy works hard- he went to a shot doctor last year, and it just didn't help him. The guy just hasn't found the ability to shoot.

That said, he is sickly athletic, probably the closest physical specimen to KG in the league (but doesn' have KG's other skills), and he has great handles, decent vision, plus plays pretty solid D.

I'd say no to him for the Rockets because of how bad his shot is, and the need we have for shooters on a team with Yao.

But, I still think the guy has potential. Perhaps even something of Shawn Marion-like if he could ever gain some sort of shooting skill. He has the same kind of "wow" athleticism and tools.

As an aside for Cleveland, they should be very happy. They're going to have an awesome backcourt of Lebron and Dajuan for a long time. Those 2 complement each other extremely well. I could see them making noise pretty quickly- with that backcourt, and a frontcourt with Ziggy, an improving Diop, Boozer, Mihm, etc. plus Miles and Davis, that could do some damage in the east.

IMO, Davis will be the odd man out. He will NOT want LeBron to be the main man.

Davis doesn't deserve to wear even a Cav's uniform for his antics on the court.

Shooting at the wrong goal to get your self an extra rebound? Uncalled for, even if it is a Cav's vs Jazz game.

I dont think the Cavs should give up on Miles yet either. I think LeBron will compliment his game a whole lot...the same way LeBron did Charlie Villenueva at the McDonalds game. Ricky Davis should be traded. They could get something of value for him. I'd give Miles one more year.

The Cavs may suck a couple more years but they will be making the highlight reel if nothing else. Can you say dunkfest? :D

Maybe some people are thinking like Paxson which is why they sux. Why would you trade the best player on your team and be stuck with a no pg playing pg and a sorry no shooting sf in Miles? If anything, after coming out too early, davis showed he can be one of the better 2 guards in the league, period. The guy is 23 yrs old and his 1st yr starting. For all his antics, he still avg 20ppg,5.5asst and 5 rebs. Why in the hell would Cleveland want to get rid of this guy? If anything, He and James would be better together than Miles,Wagner or whoever else they have.
