It was just Brown and his wife returning from NYC. Les and CD weren't around. The Brown started talking about leaving the Sixers and he told how he loved the area. When the reporter asked, "How did the interview with Les and Carrol go?", Brown looked surprised, said, "thank you" and walked away.
lol.......that's all I remembered about the interview too. It was in some hotel place...... Not many people were around. Brown looked like Brown. I can't remember what he was talkin about.......I just remember him sayin Thank You and walkin off when he was asked about the interview. Oh yeah.....he was talking about the Sixer and hopefully they do well in the future with a new coach.
this is really out of the ordinary, but it would really suck if We got one of our draft choices taken away by the Commisioner because we need to invoke the "minority canidate rule". This hasn't happened in basketball but I remember it being a huge issue when the Detroit Lions signed Mooch (not the ball carresser one) and they didn't have a minority canidate interview first. Random Thought.
Don't know if this has been posted yet, but... Any man with that kind of taste is ok in my book. Hire him yesterday.
New Clutch article on the front page posted three hours ago. Surprised no one's mentioned it yet. Main paragraph: "While both Brown's agent and Dawson made public comments that the search continues and neither is saying the other is necessarily their top choice, it just doesn't fit with what I've been hearing and with what seems to be going on. At this stage, I would really be floored if Brown wasn't the man, but stranger things have happened." Go to the front page and read the rest.
As far as I know there is no minority candidate rule in the NBA. The NFL is the only league that I am aware of that has this rule and even there they don't know quite how to enforce it just yet. The rule really is not needed in the NBA anyway since there are quite a few minority coaches in the league unlike the NFL.
I'm waiting for Brown to be hired to read MacB's thread on the new tactics his going to use.Should be very interesting... ALA
I think HP makes some good points here and I share his same thoughts. Larry Brown likes "control" and in the Rockets he would not get as much control as he has in the past. Personally I am not TOO fond of LB's personnel moves as he tends to be a bit knee jerk in those decisions. That's why I like the fact that CD/Rudy are still here. But will that conflict with LB? That might be the deal breaker there. If the Rockets don't get LB, I would have to think that was the main reason why. Stay tuned!
I was merely stating an opinion. If Brown wants to coach in Clipperland that his choice albeit a stupid one.
I don't know, live naked baywatch in my living room sounds a lot better than live naked mooch and cato in the locker room...
I was all for Dunleavy but I am being swayed towards Brown. Brown is 62 and if we don`t win it all with im in say 3-5 years then we can get Dunleavy. I don`t know how many have seen this article but it kinda swayed me towards Brown. I hope this works I am a rookie with this computer stuff as you all can tell. dr. jack
He does? I was not aware of that. As long as we shore up our power forward spot (here I go again: EG and Rice for SAR?)....and if maybe Cuttino would accept a 6th man role (he would still get plenty of minutes).
Here's a list of Larry Brown's assistants last season: Randy Ayers (College - Miami (OH) '78) Dave Hanners (College - North Carolina '76) John Kuester (College - North Carolina '77) Courtney Witte (College - Indiana '86) Mike Woodson (College - Indiana '80) Bob Bender (College - Duke '80) ATHLETIC TRAINER Lenny Currier (College - Arizona State '81)
That will never happen. There is no way (Les) a member of the "Socs" hires a member of the rival "Greasers' (Riley)
Can anyone tell me what experience Larry Brown has had with Hall-of-Fame big men? Or at least very good ones (NOT including Dikembe of course). No really, I'm asking... who has he coached? Personally, I'd rather have Van Gundy, and I'm kinda disappointed more people on that poll don't support that idea. Ah well.
