'nuff said. 1. Depended too much on Duncan 2. Perimeter shooters had the 'deer in headlights' syndrome all day when they were open. 3. they can't hit a free throw 4. they just choked hardcore and some reason...i still think they'll win the championship
These Spurs will be the worst team ever to win a title by far. With the injuries to Webber and Dirk, this has been a crappy, injury filled playoffs and the Spurs are just the healthiest team. Not 1 clutch player on the entire team and they will still win it all. Amazing.
as much as i hate finley, nash, cuban and van exel....i think i'll root for the mavs now....until the spurs stop playing with their head in their as$es it's hard to root for them..and it'll be even harder if Dirk comes back.
Goodness I thought this game was over so I went to the park and played ball. I guess I have learned that no lead is safe for san antonio. Spurs still have this series regardless of whether or not Dirk plays. They get a ton of easy shots. If the Mavs pull this series off Ill be pretty depressed. note- Im watching every second of next game
i HOPE the mavs pulls it out. they played their asses off tonight. after this game, i really don't think the spurs deserve **** unless they beat the mavs thursday by like 40.
Saying this about the Spurs is similar to other teams fan's talking about the Rocket's being given the ring because the Sonic's got knocked out and MJ wasn't playing. If the Spurs win, then they win. period. Would we have beaten the Jazz in 98 if Barkley hadn't received a pregnancy on his elbow? Very likely, and yet nobody questions the j*zz's ascendency to the 98 finals then. Be rational. If the Spur's win, they deserve it.
San Antonio got too confident with their lead. A lot of teams do it. The problem here is that they cooled off too much and couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, meanwhile letting the Mavs think they were actually beating the Spurs. The Spurs beat themselves. If Dirk sits out again, the Spurs win the game. But I think S.A. wins game six either way... Now, if it comes back to S.A. for game 7, Dirk or not.... well obviously in a game seven thus far this season Dallas is 2 for 2 so I'd give them a 51% chance to win the series if it goes that far... I'd really rather see S.A. go win it again. I couldn't stand the Mavs to get a ring, and I don't like Jason Kidd. Call it a lesser of three evils if you will.
San Antonio has the most talented team in the league in my opinion, but they are some big freaking chokers. Its pretty crappy to have a champ that is a choking team, which is what is gonna happen.
San Antonio is EXACTLY like the Rocks championship teams. They have a great center surrounded by role players. The Rocks put up some stinkers and blew leads too...but they won when it mattered. San Antonio wins game 6. DD
San Antonio is EXACTLY like the Rocks championship teams. They have a great center surrounded by role players. Maybe the 94 Rockets but no way in hell Clyde Drexler was a role player.
Not a San Antonio fan, but... I think this is more or less due to inexperience, which is a REALLY scary thought. With more exposure to these situations, the team will learn to finish off opponents. So, while still in the learning phase, San Antonio could win the championship and be in position next year with a solid young core and money under the cap. Holy cow. And NO, San Antonio is not Choke City for the new millennium as it has only one pro team. Houston EARNED that title with the Astros, Rockets, and Oilers.
SA won a championship four years ago with Duncan and Robinson. They have played against the Lakers the last 2 years. They have plenty of experience choking it up.
