I thought of a 3-team trade that seems to help out all the teams it involves....check it out... Philadelphia: trades: Eric Snow recevies: Marcus Fizer reason: Coleman is getting old and probably wont be in the league much longer so they could use Fizer to help beef up their front line. Miami: trades: Eddie Jones receives: Glen Rice, Moochie Norris reason: Eddie Jones always plays with Cuttino and Steve during the offseason and likes Houston. Glen Rice can go back home, and Moochie has a great chance of having a starting role. Houston: trades: Glen Rice, Moochie Norris receives: Eddie Jones reason: Eddie Jones can play with his off-season buds and have fun, plus be on a winning team and have a shot for a future championship. Starting lineups for teams: Philadelphia: 1. Snow 2. Iverson 3. Thomas 4. Fizer 5. Coleman Miami: 1. Norris 2. Butler 3. Rice 4. Grant 5. Mourning Houston: 1. Francis 2. Jones 3. Posey 4. Griffin 5. Yao I think trade accepted what about you?
Probably not accepted. I am sure Miami would be looking for more than Rice and Moochie for Jones (I don't think it would work salary wise anyway).
Miami is looking to unload salary and Rice is exactly what they are looking for! Rice also makes his home in the Miami area. But, why would we want to trade for a player that has been hurt for the better part of three years?
How is Philly involved in the main trade at all? Where the heck is Marcus Fizer coming from? This seems more like a two team trade, with another two team trade going on somewhere else that you only show half of.
Moochies greatest chance of starting is in the NBDL, even thats questionable... And having Francis eddie jones, and Mobley would be Les Alexander literally killing himeself. We already have Mobley who thinks hes better than Francis, who takes away shots from Yao and steve, now you wanna add eddie jones. What a mess we are in for if we ever do that...
I understand that Rice's contract has value. However, you have to also consider the fact that Miami is about $10-$15 mil under the cap this summer. So Jones contract (I am sure they wouldn't mind getting rid of it) is not as much of a detriment to that team as many think. Therefore, I think Miami would want more than Rice and Moochie in return (actually, essentially Moochie since Rice might retire in a year or so). Also, we have contract problems too (Cato, Francis and Mo). I certainly don't want to add another $11 Mil to the mix.
uhh...isn't that a two-team trade between Miami and Houston and some other trade between Chicago and Philly that you just threw in there?
Cap is expected to be around $45 mil next year. According to the numbers on RealGM (and another site that i reference), Miami is at $30 mil.
ok i messed it all up here is how it goes.... jones to houston. rice to heat..... moochie to sixers..... 6th pick to sixers.... snow to heat
jones to houston. rice to heat..... moochie to sixers..... 6th pick to sixers.... snow to heat Who has the 6th pick? Do you mean the 5th? If so, did Miami just trade Eddie Jones and the 5th pick for Glen Rice and Eric Snow? WTF?!
Sounds right to me, and about $5 mil of that is team option. What do they need to make a trade for? Apparently, they could sign a max player this summer.
Dumb trade. The priority of the Rox team is a strong PF. Rice is a valuable asset. And waste a valuable asset on Jones who has a Max contract, old and injury prone and then create conflict with Cat? That kind of trade typically is GM-killer.
That is what I was thinking too. They can hold onto Grant and Jones and sign a couple of other nice players and be legit playoff contenders.
