I could see the point if the Rockets were actually running the transition, threes, and pick n' roll action, "freelance" offense they ran all season. They aren't. So far it seems, not running the strategy folks like to attribute to Morey is what is failing. The Rockets need to get back to their identity, what they have been doing all season.

Moreover, I think when coaches talk about not running sets/calling plays they mean having the players run the system. Whatever the system is -- motion offense, triangle, whatever -- the players have to trust the system and make good decisions. Read the defense and move the ball.

Exactly I've been saying this ever since the beginning of 2012 when McHale took a leave of absence and Sampson took over for him. McHale isn't even trying to coach now. All he says is play harder. And pats Bev on the head for playing hard. DMo is his best shot at stopping LMA.

Sampson knew that. He said DMO was the best big to execute the switches and play defense the way they wanted. Sampson got him to play DMo but McHale will go down without even playing him one minute. This team is sunk unless McHale is fired right now.

I wish they would do something now. There is still hope for our season.

    McHale is a dunderhead.

Goes to this ****ty ass 7 man rotation...They struggle and he just keeps doing the same thing over and over again.

I love Morey, but this wasn't a good hire and if he doesn't ammend this in the off season then I will have to turn on him.

Rockets are going nowhere with McHale as a head coach. He's awful.

"Apparently Sampson kept Harden accountable." harden hasn't played D all year long. apparently sampson hasn't been doing a good job keeping him accountable either. let's face it, franchise players run the league on most teams. there's nothing anyone can do if harden decides to only be a one way player.

"It's the first team to 4, not the first team to 2. We're going to have to go up there and..uh..you know...grind out a win"

The Hiring was fine. Remember when McHale was hired the team was in full rebuild mode. They didn't have Harden, Dwight, Asik or Lin. It was expected that the Rockets would be more like the Bucks or the Cavs, not a top 4 seed.

A coach like McHale is good for a team expecting multiple years of sucking and mediocrity.

For a legitimate play off team, not so much...

Karl's coaching career? Let alone he's almost the McGrady of coaching.

Exactly McHale only seemed to buy into the offense some in the middle of the year. And now he's decided if he's going to go down it's gonna be his way with 7 players he semi trusts and if he could get by with 4 he would.

Give him credit for that, he's doing it his way and fxxk all the analytics. The team lost in the 4th last night but it looked like McHale quit coaching earlier than that.

There is 0 chance that Cyberex is just some crazy making things up. He has been proven to be an insider.

I wish people would shut the **** up in questioning him and just stick to the thread topic.

Not being able to get stops is ruining our pace and rhythm on offense. We can't even run our motion offense because POR is stopping our dribble drives and our 3s aren't falling. Parsons and Harden were trying midrange, and no luck as well.

This is where playcalling would come in. Of course, would he know what sets to call that would work? That's another huge problem. Why not call pnr and pnr over and over that we used to run with goran? why not call for screens for harden? Harden scored one time on a curl and then we never repeated it again. Nobody knows what the other is doing.

If only McHale would expand the rotation and try other guys. His fault that we have not developed the bench some towards the end of the regulars. Whose idea was it to play Daniels that last game if we're not going to give him any run?
