    "There is no guarding LaMarcus."

    We'll see next series.

    Rick Carlisle or Gregg Popovich.

McHale doesn't know what a double team is. When a guy is that hot, GET THE BALL OUT OF HIS HANDS. Force another player to beat you. If that other player beats you, then oh well.

But when the opposing team's best player destroys you over and over, take the ball out of his hands.

IIRC, it took us 3-4 games last year to commit to doubling KD. Not sure what the aversion is.

EXACTLY, make LMA run and foul to defend us !!! Him and Lillard aren't even breaking a sweat. It's either Dwight post up or chucking 3's for us.

Honest put Casspi on LaMarcus Aldridge he's the only one that has the speed to disrupt his jumpshots. You'll always have Dwight Howard at help in the post. Casspi would make Aldridge chase him around on the offensive end. Can't be any worse than what houston is doing now.

    I agree. DMo and/or Casspi.

    See separate thread I posted.

BTW - SportVu Player Tracking says these 2 are fastest on the team
    (together with Beverley and Canaan)

Allow lilliard to come clean off of those screens instead of hedging and recovering. Let Lopez's man help on lilliard as he gets into the paint but do not let Aldirdge touch the ball. That's the easiest way to stop him. Force someone else to take and make the shots.

Are you guys serious? Casspi can't guard LA, niether can Dmo!

We need to be physical with him, then face guard him in the post and have the weak side wing dive down and help/double.

Gonna give up some open 3s, but we HAVE to double him!

The thing is they're not really posting him up right away. A lot of times they run a screen and roll up top first and then he either pops, rolls or goes into the post. You have to defend the Pn R first, and that IMO is what we're doing wrong. We just need to let Lilliard come off of those screens and make him a scorer. Aldridge is just too lethal right now.

I know this sounds like an agenda post but jones, DMo, Asik, are too slow to deny aldridge the ball. I would put Casspi on Aldridge and tell him to stay in front of Aldridge. You're getting dominated by soft mentally weak LaMarcus Aldridge you need to do something different.

Start Lin. make it a point on the offense to run Lillard through a thousand screens. Like literally spend the first 10 sec just running Lillard through 1-2 screens then initiate the offense. Have Lin double team LMA since he's the best help defender. If Lillard gets the open pass, well he can shoot it. I rather have tired legs Lilliard taking the shot then LMA

    Good points.

We just have to bank on no one else beating us. If we can't contain Aldridge we are done in 4 or 5

How's what working? We have played him one on one 90% of the time.

Which is the bigger net loss. Two slow guys guarding aldridge and leaving a blazer open or Casspi on Aldridge. I would take the latter. Yes you're giving up some in the post and Casspi will be beat a few times but he'll make Aldridge work on the offensive and defensive ends.

I'm not saying LMA is Jordan but could you imagine if some coach tried to defend Jordan 1:1?? What's wrong with Mchale and his crew??!! You double the player who's killing you!!! or at least throw DMO on him. At least try something new.

What you're talking about is a tangent on something that isn't working now. I don't know if my idea is crap but at this point why not.

Rudy T defended Jordan one on one with maxwell.

We won most of those games.
