I've got Larry Brown overload so how about a nice trade thread for a change of pace? :D

Shop talk: The Pacers' Al Harrington and Jamal Tinsley are there for the taking. So is Austin Croshere, but we've known that. Pacers President Donnie Walsh said he hasn't done a good enough job of meshing his team's talent and wants to make major changes.

"Sometimes, you've got to sit there and say, `I want to be mad at the coach, I want to be mad at the players, but the fact is, I've got to get mad at myself,'" Walsh said.

He also said "it's time for [Jonathan Bender] to play" and that Tinsley needs to work on "his body, his shooting, his ability to get to the goal."

Can't say that I've seen much of either of them and their stats are a mixed bag. Harrington has got decent size and Tinsley averaged 7.5 assists to 2.6 TO but can't shoot a lick.

    a) are either/both worth pursuing?
    b) what would you give up for them?

No thanks. Tinsley can't shoot and he tries to be flashy more often than our guards.

neither...though tinsley is more of a pure pg he did squat last year and has the makings of a flash in the pan...harrington looks like a perrinel 7th or 8th guy off the bench....what we need mose are accurate spot up shooters that can spread the defense and take advantage of yao's passing ability from the post....

I guess it depends on what we have to give up..

I would definitely do it for

    Eddie G
    Moochie
    Boki

    FOR

    Tinsley
    Harrington

Despite Tinsleys poor shooting, he does have great passing ability and plays solid defense. He also fits the mold as a pure passing pg.

Harrington is a young but can compliment our players well. He has shown alot more progress than Eddie G and plays a hard nose game. Played extremely well he started when Artest was suspended and when Oneal was hurt. Pretty decent FG and FT%s too..

All we need is a PF now..

    Yao-Cato
Mo T- Hopefully upgrade to a PJ Brown
    Harrington-Posey
    Francis-Cat
    Tinsley-Francis

    Sure. I'd do it.

If Larry doesn't like Griffin.....I'd do it.

    Moochie
    Griffin
    Morris

    Tinsley
    Harrington

Tinsley CAN shoot..........but he would be our initiator. And he is an excellent passer and better than average handler. I'd like him. He just looks a little KOOKOO...a little old lookin.

Tinsley's not bad. A little overrated, but hardly a Moochie clone. He'll probably be a good backup in the NBA, but I'm not sure he's the answer to the Rockets' prayers.

To me, Harrington seems to be the Original Eddie Griffin. It's not a bad thing, but we already have a guy with lotsa talent and little to show for it.

Tinsley's my most coveted player. I don't think he's overrated at all. He's a pure PG who looks to get his teammates involved over everything else. Plus he has quick hands (gets good steals) and plays solid defense.

The ONLY knock on Tinsley is he can't shoot real well right now, but might I remind you of a young Avery Johnson who couldn't shoot the ball ... up until around '96 or so. He'll eventually get his shot, but in the meantime he already gives you so much.

He missed some games last season and had some poor games as well, but that was due to family illness. Expect to see even more improvement from Tinsley next year.

Tinsley is a decent young point guard, with room to improve. Harrington had a 40 pt game last year! Both of these kids have potential and could be gems in the right system. They both have some issues to work through, but might work well with Brown as coach.
