I think he would've come here anyway due to the Rockets ability to compensate him and the opportunity to team up with another star in Harden. IMO those were the primary "recruiters". Also, I would think players(extremely talented ones like Howard) would like the idea of having a GM that can wheel-and-deal like Morey and assemble so much talent on a team to surround a superstar with.

Outcoached again. McHale is a good coach to babysit a young team and impart wisdom, but at some point they need a guy who can help them win basketball games.
