I have nothing solid on this, but people in Toronto are citing a workout by Georgia Tech freshman Chris Bosh which blew away those watching. He is apparently already bigger, standing at 6-11, 220 lbs, and he missed only one shot in the entire workout ( which included quite a few threes.). In addition, his agility test was supposed to be off the charts for a man his size, bringing up the Garnett comparisons again. In that he is only months older than James, expectations are now that he could easily be a 7 footer, and his added 10 lbs of muscle bodes well for the future.

Now this may be true, or it may be smoke, as the Raps have discussed trading the pick in the wake of yet another bad 'luck' lottery result for the seemingly cursed franchise. But if these reports are accurate, people are saying that Bosh could be pushing his way into the Big Three of James, Anthony and Darko. I frankly didn't pay much attention to Bosh this year, but I would greatly appreciate scouting reports of those who have seen him play. Are the Garnett comparisons accurate, given the age? Thanks in advance...

I saw one game of him, and I can't remember who he played, but it was near the end of the season. He didn't blow me away or anything, but that was just one game. I think he has to have a shot at be a good or even great NBA player, I just don't know that much about him.

He was one of the most highly touted and recruited players coming out of high school last year. The scouting report on him was that he had all of he tools and gifts but just needed to gain more weight and refine his game in the NCAA for a few years. Aparently he feels he's ready to come out early. I think he has Garnett potenial, although their respective gmes are not realy that similar. Nonetheles, he looks to be a future star.

But that's what I said about Eddie Griffin when he declared for the NBA after his freshman season!

A longterm project with huge bust/star potential.

They would be better served trading the pick if there was anyone of worth available.

    #4 for Posey. :p

He has the potential to become Dirk+Garnett divided by two. He runs the floor fluidly but doesn't always know what he's doing on offense. It might have been the coaching, but he often just stood around the blocks doing nothing or camped around the 3 point line. He definately was great on defense though, and his added weight can only help him.

If he ever learns how to put the ball on the floor, then he can easily be Dirk-like on offense with KG defense. His post game is very underdeveloped but he has soft touch around the basket. Potential is the key word with him. Most people would tell you that he is a big project, but with his range and defense, he can definately surprise people.

The Eddie Griffin comparisons are inevitable, but he has a few things going for him.

    1. He is at least 2 inches taller than Eddie
    2. People KNOW that he's going to play on the perimeter, so not many will be disappointed like they were with Eddie's supposed "Duncan like post moves."
    3. His stroke is smooth, smooth, smooth. Eddie just throws up flat bricks.

Still haven't given up on Eddie, though. :)

Breath...Supposedly one of the things which stood out at this workout was his ballhandling...I didn't know that that had previously been a weakness, so I suppose that, if true, that was a big deal.

So he's totally perim oriented? Hmmm...Oh well, that's a drawback.

He is not totally perimeter oriented.

He's very similar to Joe Smith in college, add in a 3 pointer now and then. He's surprisingly good in the post for a twig.

Bosh may never be able to bulk up, so you have to hope the fire is there the whole time. If it is you have Joe Smith with range from his rookie year as a starter (and he'll progress from there). If the fire goes, you end up with Joe Smith from his second season on, and that ain't good.

I got to watch him play cirlces around Kendrick Perkins in Austin two years ago. The kid has it all especially ball handling. Hopkins and Bosch running the break was the most exciting high school basketball I have ever seen.
