what's the likelyhood of one of these coaching candidates i.e. Dunleavy, taking an assistant head coaches job with us if Brown is hired?

Brown will probably be gone after 4-5 years, maybe even sooner. I think Dunleavy wants this job, but if he doesn't get it now, he could be waiting in the wings.

    Thoughts?

Dunleavy...he won't become an assistant coach.

If he does...THAT WOULD BE FABULOUS.

    Perfect!

    I wish...

But I think Brown will bring his assistants. Or maybe the Rockets can get like Kenny Smith or Avery Johnson or Mario Elie.

    Brown might hire his own.

But I like Dunleavy, A. Johnson and Rivers as assistants.

Dunleavy and Rivers will be head coaches or they won't coach. Dunleavy will likely end up in Atlanta and Rivers will probably stay put. Guys like Elie, Avery Johnson or others who have been assistants or former players with no coaching experience could be candidates, but it is more likely that Brown will bring his own staff assuming he comes to Houston.

Avery Johnson will be an excellent head coach one of these days.

Rudy will be the next coach after the next coach for the Rockets.

I like a coaching staff of Silas, Kenny, and Avery Johnson with the focus spread as so.

Kenny - directing the offensvie flow
Avery - directing the defensive flow
Pual - Putting the 2 together.

when you talk about assistants Larry Brown will for the most part bring in his own guys.

However i think he will pick 1 hometown guy for the staff. That's where Avery, Kenny and Mario come in
