Yea I guess playoffs is a different animal... Bev looked solid during season but he got exposed a little tonight and it appears lin should be starting for us in the future games. You hate to see Bev get hurt but it will likely help us in the long run.
the last shot should've been given to the hot hand. it was jeremy today. half our point in ot harden really needs to stop going to that strip joint. there are games when i'm like *wtf?* then there are the hardenesque games
right because we cant talk about a player that has been inconsistent during the regular season actually showing up during the playoffs...
Lin can never. Ever. Outplay Bev. Thats all there is to it. No amount of Lin praising can change this. So shut up Lin fans. And oh. Even if he had Harden stat line for 1 series. Still has not shown consistancy. And yeah. Not worth the worst contract ever.
this is how Lin plays. he'll sometimes do well in the 1st half, but other times when he plays poorly during this stretch, he becomes a clutch player by the 4th qtr. (if he's kept in the game long enough). That's how he has always played, even in NY. It was always the 3rd or 4th qtr. he starts going off. It seems like he needs to warmup in the beginning and then gets energized down the stretch. So when Lin is kept on the bench for long periods, it throws him off. Actually, this would throw any player off, especially with inconsistent minutes.
Lin did have overall, a good game. I said "OVERALL" because he did have some bone-headed turnover during crucial moment in the game. When he penetrate and back out and don't know what to do in the middle of the court and start dribbling some more and then turning over the ball. And there is one time he seems to have a wide open drop shot and totally over shoot it. He did made some during crunch time though. He did play a crucial part in helping the Rockets in several parts of the game though....very clutch. It was dumb Harden and stupid coaching that lost this game and it's very frustrating to see that. Maybe losing Ralph Sampson is making this team's playing stupid defense...i dunno. I am saying when Harden is not attacking the basket, i not only blame it on him but the coaches as well.
But Lin also make some stupid plays such as fouling Lillard when he's shooting 3. Refs suck at tonight's game though....i lot of times i think the action is too fast for the human eyes to pick things up, so i think they call things blindly at time.
Dumb, stupid, inaccurate. If you actually watched the game, Bev played Lilliard as good as you can. Lillard did get that and1 late but Bev was CLEARLY hurting at that point. Bev was the only reason we had a chance. Jeremy Lin's dumb azz turnover and allowing Lillard to drive the baseline really set us back if you wanna nitpick. But overall, Harden didn't show up in overtime. Mchales lack of in game adjustments is why Morey made the wrong choice and should've kept Adelman
Lin stepped up big. He had an excellent game and gave a lift to the offense in the OT when Harden seemed a little fatigued. With Beverley having been diagnosed with a sprained knee, they're going to need Lin's brand of offense to help get easier shots for Harden, Howard and others. Defensively, Lin is capable of keeping Lillard under his numbers or turning him into a volume shooter if there is proper coordination with the PFs/Cs on pick and roll defense.
One thing for sure anyone hating on Lin in here is a straightup Lin hater. No hiding behind his inconsistent play now.
Lillard got the better of Beverley throughout the game. That really can't be denied. Stotts also designed a good game plan to draw Beverley in close to Lillard so that pick and roll plays could work as well as rotating the ball to the guys they wanted to attack: Harden and Jones. If the Rockets are going to outplay or neutralize Lillard, they're going to have to take advantage of him on defense.
Lin is easy to blame for Lin Haters. They just focus on his mistakes and not anyone else. So negative and toxic.
Shouldn't shock anyone. Lin had 1 TO in the 3rd and 1 TO in the 4th and was instrumental in both keeping us in the game, building the lead, and was our biggest offensive weapon in Overtime. However, blame the guy that these same folks are calling a "below average role player" for only putting up 14 points on 11 shots, 6 rebounds (3 OReb, 3 DReb), 4 assists and shot 100% at the line in 31 minutes. Forget Harden's 4 TO's and 27 points on 28 shots, or Howards 4 missed FT's in a row as they hacked him, or that Garcia went 1/4, or that Lin was one of only 2 players on the team with a positive +/- (+5). If he's a below average/average role player, then what the heck do they EXPECT from him? If he's below average/average, then wouldn't that qualify as one hell of a performance in a play off game? On the list of reasons why the Rockets lost tonight, Lin's play is the LAST thing anyone should be complaining about.... it really is mind boggling isn't it?
Rox’ OT loss in a nutshell: Clutch: Lin 3-4, 7 pts in OT. Un-Clutch: Harden 0-4 Un-Clutch: Parsons 0-3
Relax buddy.. Soft takes is fighting for his Asian brethren. No need to take him seriously. Says a lot when 14 points in 32 minutes gets the LOFs out in there jammies and ready to the pounce. Just sit back and let Lin prove himself to be more than a fluke, it's playoffs and good guys step up. No one is expected 30 ppg, but clutch baskets and some high intelligence basketball would be a success. Nothing every other PG in the league can't be expected to do. Let's set some basic expectations and go from there !!
