Marshall is on a cheap contract and is a free agent after next season. He got signed in the first place due to the amount of injuries to their guards. If Lin somehow got to the Lakers, they would have 2 guards that can run D'Antoni's offense. There's no guarantee D'Antoni is there for the long-term either. The biggest roadblock is still Kobe because who knows if he'll end up breaking the offense or actually run it again. If they end up drafting Dante Exum, no reason to after Lin.
Don't think it was a LOF who created this thread (atleast I hope someone isn't really this stupid). More likely, this thread was created so we have another excuse to bash on Lin. Like I said, can we trade Parsons for Lebron? That's how ridiculous the original post is.
I believe the "current Lin" is a result of the "Moreyball" layups-and-threes offensive system and the lack of screens set. His play under his next offensive system will of course confirm or refute this. But my belief is not just based on what I've seen from Lin with other clubs, but also Lowry, Dragic, and A. Brooks.
Yea given he becomes the primary option on some team I would wager he could put up those numbers no problem and I'd bet some good money on it lol
Theres 19 players in the league that average 20 ppg. The ones NOT on that list are John Wall chris Paul Monta Ellis Dwight Howard Kyle Lowry Paul Millsap Just to name a few For you to say he will put up 20 is being wayyy too optimistic bro i know you love lin but pls....
Going by your post, I really doubt you seriously watched any Rockets PG play to say something so blatantly untrue and stupid. All our PG's have played well and improved on our team. - Have you seen Lowry when he was playing for the Grizzlies vs when he was playing for the Rockets? - Have you seen Dragic when he was so bad on the Suns that they traded him for a poor performing AB and then how he did on the Rockets and then immediately after being traded? - Have you seen how BAD Brooks did after leaving the Rockets? He bounced from team to team before going to China and then finally back to the Rockets. Recently he also fell back to earth on the Nuggets after his initial surge. I will ask you again, how seriously did you actually watch the HOUSTON ROCKETS and our PG's before Lin, because it sounds like you know nothing about Rockets and our past teams at all.
I get my feeling hurt when morons like you try to bring this forum down to the ESPN boards level. Your life revolves around making war with the Lin fan screen names in the virtual world by typing with your keyboard. You people are a disgrace to mankind and society. Bottom dwellers.
http://bkref.com/tiny/XApOf There's your list of players that have put up 20/5/7 over an entire season. Lin will not join that group.
20ppg is alot. I think that is unlikely, but I believe he's capable of scoring 15 ppg. More than likely, he'll probably fall somewhere in between, maybe 17-18ppg. It's only 2-3 points difference, but over the course of a long NBA season, it is considerably easier to attain. 47 players averaged between 15-20 pts per game in 2013-2014. For context: Jeff Teague (ATL, 16.5) Brandon Knight (MIL, 17.9) Michael Carter Williams (PHI, 16.7) JJ Reddick (LAC, 15.2) Jodie Meeks (LAL, 15.7) Avery Bradley (BOS, 14.9) http://www.basketball-reference.com/leagues/NBA_2014_per_game.html
Really? Brooks won MIP when he was with the Rockets. He got traded and eventually landed in China because nobody wanted him. He came back to the Rockets and next thing you know, Denver wants him. Dragic got an offered a 4 year contract with the Suns for a guaranteed $30M and where was he playing before that? Kyle Lowry played so well that Brooks, that even after Brooks (the MIP) came back from injury, was not removed from his role of being the starting PG.
all I asked was " Is Lin worth this." A simple No would of sufficed. A simple explanation would of been greatly appreciated. I dont understand the "LoF" name calling. I know Asik > Lin, being a Rockets fan I want to get rid of his contract, so we can keep parsons
Doesn't matter if we would take Lakers' 1st round pick, what matters is would they trade their top pick? Then comes some basic critical thinking. Lakers are rebuilding, so why would they trade away their 1st round pick? Lakers have Kendall Marshall. Again, why would they trade us their 1st round pick? You basically created a thread for the heck of it without putting much thought on your own. And to nobody's surprise, the thread has inevitably turned into a Lin mockery-fest. What's the point of asking such an obvious question?
