I think its very important for this team to hang onto Posey. Even if it means dumping Cato for expiring contracts, I think its very important Posey remain in the fold. As he got more used to the system, Posey showed he can be the ideal wing player for this team. It would be really sad if the Rockets couldnt hang on to Posey b/c they overpaid others on the roster.

I would think Posey's market value will probably be the mid level exception. His agent can talk all this nonsense about how they wont accept that, but I seriously doubt any team will offer more than that. If you were one of the teams with cap room, would you blow a 6 mil cap slot on Posey? I think the likely scenario is a handful of capped out teams offering a contract starting with the MCE. Rockets simply have to match this offer b/c Posey is a restricted FA iirc and then they have him on the books at 4.5 mil next season.

Is Posey worth the full MLE? I don't think so.

If the bulls are willing to pay him that much, let him go to Chicago. With 4.5 mil, we can get a player better than Posey.

Pay him 4.5, teach him to dribble and shoot. Don't let Chi get him. I like Posey, and I hate the Bulls.

I guess alot of it comes down to whether resigning Posey will put the Rockets over the luxury tax, and for how much.

The Bulls probably won't make the playoffs for a couple of years, but they probably would be able to offer him the starting SF spot. Jalen Rose plays SG, and Marshall and Fizer come off the bench.

Any sign and trade possibilities for Posey with the Rocks and the Bulls? Posey for Donyell Marshall? I would do that one.

I'd doubt Bulls would sign-and-trade Crawford for Posey, but the may be willing to do it with Jay Williams, as he seems to be the odd man out at PG.

    lol......I'd do that definitely.

    A #1 and 2 #2 picks. A #7 pick. A #42 pick. A #15 pick. A #18 pick.

Yeah, having a 3-guard rotation of Francis, Mobley, and Williams would be nice, albeit a little undersized.

Looking at Chicago's roster, they also need a backup Center. The Rockets could possibly throw in Cato to sweeten the pot, though then it may not be a good deal.

Posey is alot more important to this team than anyone is giving him credit for. He's definitely a must have. He's not afraid to dive for balls, get rebounds and he helps our fast break tremendously. He may not be worth a lot of money but he is our new Elie type player.

By the way I remember alot of people here before the draft last year begging to pick Boki, I haven't seen any Boki worshipping anymore. What happened to his starters role evryone seem to want to give him. Granted he should get more playing time before he's judged the next Langhi, but we all know it's been stressed he is a defensive liability as is Rice, but unlike Posey.

I say Posey has the heart and fire this team is missing. He flat out makes Steve and Cat and all of our other guards and forwards look lazy and weak.

Posey is a keeper. The "Cat" is the one who needs to go.

Posey sucks. If the rockets can fleece something of value from Chicago for him, then I'm all for it.

Just don't take on Eddie Robinson's contract plz.

That'd be nice for Houston, and would solve some logjams in Chicago, but I don't think they'd give up Williams and Fizer for just Posey.

I guess Fizer could play PF for the Rockets, or be a sixth man like Corliss Williamson off the bench.

Posey or Pippen are one of the players that the Bulls need to break out of their losing ways?

It would take much much much more than Posey to turn the Bulls around.

I don't know about that. The Bulls won 30 games, 9 more then the previous year, so it's obvious they are improving.

The problem is they can't play on the road, because of youth and lack of defense. Posey would certainly help. But with Curry, Chandler, and Crawford all putting up numbers like they did in the last couple months of the season, I wouldn't be suprised to see them in the playoffs in a year or two.

I expect we will sign Posey with a deal starting just under 5 mil per year (just a tad over MCE). Posey was the 1st or 2nd best player on Denver, and was clearly one of our 4 best players. He isn't good enough to be a prime target for the teams way under the cap--but would be a prime MCE target for many teams over the cap. It would be a shame to lose him for nothing, personally I'd like to keep him as a decent starting 2 or 3 or great 6th man.
