Bill seems to get very irritated when "scrubs" outplay the Rockets. Tony Parker scoring on you is more acceptable than Austin Rivers, and Spurs beating you is more acceptable than the Pelicans. I don't agree that he picks on Lin. You can see in this video how Bill got extremely irritated when Beverley failed to stop the ball, allowing Rivers to score an easy layup. http://on.nba.com/1lYcKSe I do agree that Bill seems a bit more bitter this season, but it's probably because the expectations of this team is sky-high. Rockets have had practically no playoff success in the last 10+ years, and this team is meant to change all that. He expects great things out of this team, so when they get beaten by poor team because of lack of effort and hustle, Bill gets extremely pissed off.
Makes perfect sense to me. I hate it when we let the scrubs dominate us for three quarters before we try to rally for a comeback.
Bingo. That's exactly it. Bill is an old school fan of Houston Rockets' brand of basketball. Many of us remember our identity as being scrappy and playing with tremendous heart despite the circumstances--no excuses. When young, promising players fail to execute because of mental lapses or lack of hustle that really gets to Bill (just as it does with me). At the end of the day, it's just a different era; and, it will be a sad day when Bill's era comes to an end.
And that's exactly what i've done, i also venture to say that the other teams feeds actually give props to our players more than our own commentators at times. Oh well~ another day in the life of things we can't change.
It'll never "be ok" as long as you continue to ignore the compliments he does give to Lin and just focus on the criticism. For these reasons, I can't stand when he compliments Lin, (which is a lot), because Lin's fans are so busy hating on him and calling him racist as he does it.
To be fair Bill trolls Lin two out of three times. While compliments him one out of three times. To be fair, Lin does some boneheaded plays that warrant some criticisms. Sadly at times, it is too much. That's on Lin though, he has to play better and hustle more. I'm fine with Bill and Bull. I'm not sure about Clyde though.
Whats wrong with that? Rivers is a scrub and no way he should be blowing past Jeremy with ease while Parker is a top 5 PG and a bonafide pick n roll player. He calls it as he sees it.
They need to get somebody that's not such a homer and debbie downer. Somebody that appreciates both teams and is enthusiastic.
Replacing the couch ...Harden,.and Bill and everybody else for just a guy named Lin! By the way if River is scrap can out play our over paid scrub wd have.. Then Bill is right on the points
I like Bill a lot, but him and Bull make things worse than they really are sometimes. Like the sky is falling. Bull blames refs, and Bill just condescends our players.
I switched to the other team's feed early in the season and have enjoyed it and agree they compliment our players more than the home announcers. They also bring a fresh perspective to the game as each crew has its own style; I really like the variety.
Bill is awesome. Can never imagine rockets games without him. Him saying "TNT" tonight was funny though
One of the benefits of listening to the opponent's feed is that they expect their players to score baskets so not every FG is the result of poor defense by the Rockets.
