People like you are unbelievable, whether it's using stats or eye test or some bs excuse you can come up with, you just can't give the guy his due...did it occur to u that mchale told him to go under the pnr bc rivers is a ****ty mid range jump shooter, or how about the fact that pat bev switched onto rivers and immediately picked up a foul and they switched back, or we could have tried harden on rivers, but harden was busy making babbit look like lebron....look at the game in it's entirety man

Torocon dude went 1-6 in the 4th quarter bro but early on he was going off. He was 1-2 in the 3rd.

But you are right he only shot 50% in the 1st half.

    Dude, everyone has to.

If DHoward can bring his game.

If Asik can hold his own.

    If TJones can play well.

    If CParsons can shoot well.

    If this and if that.

This team can beat anyone. It shouldnt be on just the one player.

Has anyone noticed that NBATV will tease Rockets Highlights in the first hour of the show but leave the highlights for the second hour (sometimes the fourth hour, the rerun of live broadcast)? they even do it when the Rockets are the early game. thats pretty frustrating.

Just want to share this tweet...love it!

    @HoustonRockets:

The sea parted & @JLin7 went right through. Straight to the basket for the lay-in & HOU is up 3, 33 seconds left.

Why do you do this to yourself? Do you really enjoy fighting on the internet so much?

Basketball is also a game of streaks. Long as over the course of the game the number is good, I'm not going to complain.

And PnR is team defense. Leaving a guy on an island to defend a guy that gets a ton of picks and screens is a LOT to ask of any player. That's one of the main things that bugs me about Dwight. Asik often comes out to ICE the PnR. Dwight for some reason just doesn't do it very often.

As for folks complaining about any of our players going over/under the screen, over/under is set by the coaches. They game plan before the games and tells the perimeter defenders what they want... ie, go over or under. If any of our players is going under non-stop, it's because that's the game plan.

Remember that in the 4th quarter Bullard specifically mentioned that McHale called Lin over and told him to change the coverage and try to go over the screens. If Lin was making errors in terms of going over/under, McHale either got it wrong pregame, or was negligent in not correcting the coverage.

PnR defense for the Rockets has been on/off all season. That was true of whether Lin or Beverley was on the floor. Some guys are great about always Icing the PnR (Like Asik), others are more dodgy (like Dwight).

I am happy that Dwight and Bev are back. Hope Chandler and Garcia will get healthy quickly. Our lack of defense and fitness problems are hurting us.

    Who looks more like Grendal?

    Brandon Wright or Alex Ajinca?

Obviously, but the key difference is how streaky Lin has been all year. Most of the other guys have been consistent. If Lin and Asik can have strong showings off of the bench, we can go from playoff team to contender.

I think we all remember those 13th pick Rockets teams that would always play good teams tough and end up losing it at the end...feels good to be on the other side of the stick (has happened quite a bit this year).

I don't why the two centers play the PNR so differently. It must be confusing for the guard trying to contain the ball handler to have to be wary of who is defending the screener and the scheme that the player uses.

Howard finally starting showing hard on the PNR in the last few minutes of the fourth and that made a huge difference defensively. River had to pass it to Ajinca who couldn't do anything, because he was being trapped by Howard and Lin.

Desperately needed that win, Dwight, Bev, Harden, Lin all stepped up in the final minutes.

    Hope Bev is okay.

Now let's get Parsons back Monday so we can enjoy our full lineup these last two games. Even if we clinch on Monday I think we should play everybody Wednesday. We are obviously not in any kind of rhythm at all after so many key pieces being out and we need to try to get a rhythm going into the playoffs.

You are right on the money Torocan. I don't know why Howard won't ride the ball handler on the PnR . If he does that it give the guard time to get back to his man.

Yes sir they look at films and run a few practice drills before the game or whenever they have practice. But I think sometime our players are lost out there. Look at the last few games, teams have been eating us up alive.
We act like we don't how to defend the PnR.

I always love D-Mo's effort on the hard edge to defend the PnR, he hedges hard and then runs back to rotate back.
