Looks like he just recovered from a foot injury. He's young but didn't play in a reputable league, and there's no official measurement available(but unlikely to match Dieng's size and length). A lot of guesswork, but maybe a good one upon further scouting.
I have a question, to anyone who has seen both Jeff Withey and Gorgui Dieng play ... who do you think will be the better pro?? I personally haven't seen much of either; but from what I can gather, both are around the same age, both put up similar numbers, and both same have similar strengths and weaknesses. So if you guys could shine some light on the comparison of both of these guys that would be great!
Based on a few games I watched and some analysis online, it seems like Withey has better offense in college. Defensively he's quite good ,but having trouble defending PNR and strong big opponents down low(weak frame). Dieng anchors the #1 defense in college, and he's a beast in whatever situation defensively. He shows very good improvement lately in passing, mid-range jumper. He showed a couple effective post moves late in the final's game. He's a late boomer, so I'd say he's better with more upside especially if the reported 7"6' wingspan is true(phisically he'd be right there with the best of the NBA).
Combine result shows Dieng has almost the same standing reach as Asik(9'4") and I suspect he has more vertical than Asik. Great phisical measurements at projected draft position of #20 on draftexpress, it maybe not that hard for Morey to work out a trade...

Dieng could slide into 2nd round if teams feel he's to injury prone. If he's still on the board when Houston picks at #34 then I would take a chance on him without thinking twince. Low risk for a high reward IMO.
Considering that Dieng was taken 13 picks before the Rockets' only selection, and considering that the Rockets needed to maximize cap room in order to sign Dwight, I find it very hard to imagine. (Sorry. I'm stilled pissed off about that loss.)
