I don't know guys. I have ALWAYS been a huge Rudy T fan, but of late, I don't know. I mean, I even supported him when he got sooo drunk that he crashed into a tree and later called in exhaustion. Whatever. Anyway, I don't know what Rudy is doing anymore. My god, how can you leave Bull in the fourth qtr like that we he is NOT hitting. Forget about all that bringing the opposing ctr/pf out of the paint. How can Rudy leave Cuttino in and run so many plays through him if he is hurt and not putting the ball in the hole. Shandon deserves to have some offense ran for him. So what he is not a great jump shooter, let him drive to the hole. I know that Rudy is not going anywhere since he recently signed a contract extention, but things are getting a little ridiculous. I not calling for his head because the Rox are losing, it's based on his HORRIBLE coaching job of late. Cuttino is not that great of a player. Why not employ a two-man game with Dream and Stevie. My god, somebody (Les, CD, somebody) needs to shake Rudy up a little.

I've always believed Rudy does things for a reason. I too, scream and yell, at the TV and at the games for him to make substitutions, etc. I even hear Gene Peterson (play by play announcer) on the radio trying to give Coach some coaching tips. Most of the time, I just sit back and let Rudy do his thing. I have no real say anyway... hehe

We all know that Rudy T is rock solid and makes odd decisions from time to time. But lets face it, Les and CD arent going to let him go unless he up and quits on us or something. That wont happen. No one can go inside RT's mind and figure out what the hell he is thinking, we just need to rest on the fact that RT knows how to coach, and we dont.

By that same light, I could say all the Kings have is 1 superstar (Cwebb), 1 great playmaker (jwill), 1 great scorer (stojo), and 1 decent center (divac), and a bunch of decent role players.

I could also say the Suns have 1 great 6th man (Rogers), 1 up&coming young player (Marion), 1 superstar (Kidd), and the rest are good role players. Googs has been injured forever and I dont really think he can be the player he was 2 or 3 years ago... same thing with Penny.

The Jazz have 1 superstar (Malone), 1 great point guard (Stockton), maybe even a good scorer (Starks), and the rest are just role players. I mean who else do they have? Jacque Vaughn? Bryon Russel? Quincy Lewis? Danny Manning? They're all just role players.

My point is that I dont think the Rockets are bad at all talent wise. I agree that each team has certain advantages against us and could win, but we also have advantages.

If everyone were to play like they should (ie Shandon, Walt), then we are a very strong team talent wise. And if Cato proves to be a strong presence off the bench (which I believe he will be), then we are even stronger, and there arent too many teams that are better than us. Keep in mind that we are still young, and are still maturing and growing. There's plenty of room left for improvement.

He's mystery man alright!Last qtr. was just simply one of the embarassing moments, watching Elliot driving into the lane, like a senior citizen chasing a meat balls rolling down the floor and Matt just simply can't defend the Sean. Bad decision on Rudy's part but you see those odd decision once in awhile.

Yeah, he should definitely be outta here considering we are only like 7 games better than last year already in the wins and losses column despite being in the Western Conference. [IMG]

Bullard is nice for 115 minutes a game, but not when 12 of thoe 15 come in the fourth quarter. I have always liked Rudy, and i don't want him to leave the organization. Maybe he could be "promoted" to VP of basketball operations or something. Good god! I am so sick of seeing Bullard and KT in the fourth quarter. Every game the same thing. Every loss, the same reason. Moochie, Bullard, Walt, KT and Cato is a THIRD STRING lineup that should play only during a blowout. NOT THE DAMN FOURTH QUARTER. This must be the future 4th quarter lineup: Steve, Cat, Shandon, Taylor, Dream. Wins would pile up.

I totally agree. Air Bull should definitely play 115 minutes a game. [IMG]

He would have to be out there guarding Turbo at halftime and time outs to get that many minutes

ZRB: I've said this before because it has been said often, but it bears repeating considering your post. Rudy T has NO (ZERO, NADA) interest in working in the front office of the Rockets. He has said on numerous occassions that he could NEVER do what Carroll Dawson does - talking on the phone with GM's and agents, etc.

He wants to be on the bench and will remain there as long as he can. If he doesn't do it here, there are plenty of teams willing (and THRILLED) to take him off of our hands.

By the way, who exactly do you suggest we hire in his place? Rudy is considered one of the top coaches in the game today. Around the league, he is mentioned in the same breath as Pat Riley, Phil Jackson and Jerry Sloan. The fact is that he is taking a very young, very inexperienced team and winning with it despite the fact that he and most other teams realize that they probably won't make the playoffs and are still rebuilding.

I am and have always been of the position that the reason we do as well as we do is because of Rudy. I know sometimes we, including myself, question some of his moves or rotations. But every respectable NBA analysis feels that it is simply amazing for Rudy to even have this team playing above .500 in just a year, in the western conference. I mean, we have some good players, but we also have a lot of role players. Shandon Anderson, Walt, Cato, KT, Bullard, Moochie--these are all players that either nobody wanted or were afraid to take a look at. We dont have Portlands talent or the Lakers talent or the Suns or Kings, etc, etc. We have one superstar player, one fantastic scorer, and two playable lowpost players. Realistically, if you match us up against all 8 teams doing better than us and maybe even Seattle (and maybe even denver depending on how consistent LaFrentz is), I can see where each team has advantages and could win. So we are where we should be talent-wise in my opinion. When you add in the fact that the team is still learning how to beat the Clippers, Celtics, Nuggets, Warriors of the world, we are doing pretty good. Rudy has always done very well with little talent. There is no need to bash him just because the Rockets are 13-11, whichis better than I expected at least.

Yeah, I have to wonder about him letting Cat take so many shots with a hurt elbow. And I'm sort of wondering in general about having only 2 guys playing starter's minutes. However, it doesn't even enter my mind that maybe Rudy is screwing up in some way. He's contending with the problems before him; his solutions may seem wacky, but I doubt they're from a lack of thought or leadership ability. He's not where he's at because an arm-chair coach can do his job better than he can. Maybe Fratello can do a better job, but not me. So, I'll just let him do his thing and hopefully we'll stay over .500.
