Test scores: Manziel - 32 Bortles - 28 Bridgewater - 20 Edit, I posted without seeing its already been said, sorry.
It's not so much about the Wonderlic scores that impress me with Manziel, it is about his recal. I had heard he had a pretty good recal (in regards to plays, etc) at A&M and I guess he is impressing the NFL people as well.
Interesting theory on which college QBs have the best chance to succeed in the NFL. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/writers/john_lopez/07/08/qb.rule/
Usually the Wonderlic score doesn't really matter unless you get a super low score like VY, but his brain was seen as pretty much the only good thing about Bridgewater and it seems that it's not that impressive. His poor showing at Pro day with red flags everywhere and now finding out that he did just okay on the Wonderlic....not looking good for him.
Exactly, it just seems like it is one let down after another with him. The problem with his film is that if you are looking for the red flags he showed at Pro day, you can find them, even when he's beating up on the BS teams on his schedule.
Just at a glance it looks like Blake is the only quarterback out of the top 3 that fits the criteria of the article.
Texans #1 pick from 35 mock drafts. http://www.houstontexans.com/news/a...urvey-70/49bd5a92-acae-4d6b-aed5-82d887630c65 Number of Mocks Clowney - 20 Bortles - 12 Manziel - 2 Mack - 1
Seems like a variation of the Parcell's rule, but including the Wonderlic score. Parcells rules - QB must: Be a Senior (possible exception if they graduate early) Graduate College Be a 3 year starter Have 23 wins as a starter Complete at least 60% of his passes
I could care less how well the player they don't pick turns out; all I care is that the player they do pick works well for the team. Even though Jordan was better than Hakeem, we don't hear a lot of people giving the Rockets a hard time for picking Hakeem over Jordan because Hakeem worked out well for Houston. Portland on the other hand gets killed all the time because Bowie didn't work out too well. If the Texans don't pick the best player available, they better pick the player that works out best for the team.
Bortle Kombat started 37 games, scored a 28 on the test, and completed 65 percent of his passes. HOF BABY!
And was 10x the player that Bortles was. I will never see the hype in Bortles. He has the projected size you want, but he doesn't scream franchise caliber QB.
