Our starters were dreadful against the nuggets but that second unit was terrific. Okay you can argue that Denver this season ain't that great like last season but hey, come playoffs we need the whole team to deliver. So what do you think? With just a a handful of games left will we see the true potential team? (we have 1 more game against the Spurs)
TBH hope and optimism has dwindled for me. I've gone from being a young man to now being almost a middle-aged man with that hope year after year. I've become a very pessimistic and bitter person in regards to our team. Our record is nice, but I'm still seeing the same issues/habits we had the previous year and during the playoffs I can see these habits being magnified. I was hoping that this year our team chemistry and defense would be significantly better...well, I guess there's always next year (once again and again). Anyway, I just hope we win a chip before I hit 50 and I hope I end up eating crow and we somehow end up going deep in the playoffs or end up winning a chip. The end.
You can't crap all over the starters for last night. They were exhausted, short-handed, and playing a mile higher than they're used to. The bench's comeback was impressive, but the problem is I can't see McHale trusting the likes of Daniels and Covington come playoff time. Hell, he's hesitant to give any minutes to Hamilton and he's actually been in the league a few years.
Knee-jerk is Knee-jerk. We'll be fine once everyone comes back from whatever injury they are carrying. I'd like it if Beverley and Howard get a limited run in minutes against the Spurs and the last game against the Hornets.
Nuggets game was irrelevant. The performance of a rotation missing two playoff starters says absolutely nothing about the contention of the full rotation. However, I have seen enough before the Beverley injury to have a fairly good guess that this team, despite strong regular season performance and good matchups, won't beat the Spurs. But I'm open to change my opinion if Dwight and Beverley come back and the Rockets build on the chemistry and momentum they had as of early March rather than being rusty/readjusting to the lineup. So...let's wait.
Lets just worry about Home court, and beating the Blazers. If the Rockets can get through them, they are most likely looking at a 2nd round Epic juggernaut matchup vs the Spurs which will be legendary and something Rockets fans can talk about for years (good or bad). There is alot more to be excited about this post season than just winning it all. Lets not get so ahead of ourselves to where we are pissed off and jumping off buildings just because the Rockets dont win 5 titles in a row. The Spurs haven't won a title in 7 years, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't have enjoyed the success they have had the past 6 years.
Yes, there's a glimmer of hope now! Finally!! Harden, Howard, Parsons, Jones, Bev, Lin, etc. won't be enough to get us a title, but now that we have a couple of D-Leaguers scoring a few points at the end of a meaningless game against players #7-16 on the Nuggets depth chart, that NBA title is just on the horizon!!!!
Every time I see the word "glimmer" I think of Steven Seagal's The Glimmer Man. But yeah good stuff in RGV. Go Vipers.
This. McHale is just not a good coach. The Roster already has players who play with low IQ. That coupled with low I Q coaching, I just think the talent level and coaching is too strong in West for Rox to get over the jump with McHale. Rox continue to make the same mistakes and mainly have had good year because of talent on roster. I'm hoping Rox don't renew his contact.
The only way I see him winning is if he has Lebron James. Even then, he'll find a way to misuse King James.
