I agree- why make drugs and victimless crimes illegal? We should outlaw all crimes in which there is not a secondary victim.

Victimless crimes is a bad thing for the country and freedom

Otherwise your being locked in a cage for seemingly doing absolutely nothing wrong, as you were not harmful to anyone but yourself (and in most cases you weren't even harmful to yourself). Being locked in a cage with a bunch of men who want to rape you, being fed an awful diet and living in horrific conditions sounds more harmful then what originally occurred to get you there.

I'm pretty sure those movies you go watch at the theater are fake too.

    Thanks.

Scary/tragic stuff... there's going to be a WTF death every decade... then again, if it's "expected" and "accepted" that these guys will die young due to the "culture/industry", it no longer will be a "WTF" death.

Can somebody please post a list of all the people that have inhaled oxygen that have died young? It seems like a lot...

Good luck defending "pro" wrestling... I loved it as a kid (and thought it was mainly for kids at the time... with the toys, cartoons, and saturday-afternoon broadcasts), but I really am curious as to what the appeal is to adults.

The average WWE fan is like 32 years old... so apparently it appeals to a lot of adults.

But why? I seriously would like to know what the appeal is at that point?

Seems like MMA would give people the same satisfaction if they want to see "legit" fights. And everything else (the back-stabbing, turns, deception, double-crossing) can be found on any day-time soap opera.

You got twenty-somethings setting up fully-fledged quidditch leagues, every Pixar movie ever made has turned a profit and every Disney cartoon from the '90s is a Broadway musical. Grownups eat up this kiddie stuff all day; I don't watch wrestling but I understand how the nostalgia and escapism would appeal to adults, let alone some of the cultural and racial satire they've gotten away since the '80s. Also telling an episodic narrative through physical aggression appeals very uniquely to younger and possibly blue collar males.

So basically, the same overgrown kids that are playing a made-up game of quidditch, are also signing disney show-tunes, and going to WWE events?

I also secretly think that some of the diehard adult WWE fans think the stories/actions/results are still "real"... even though they've admitted they're all scripted.

Its not about it being real, its about it being fun and entertaining... I don't need to believe its real to enjoy the promos and the athletic feats that are being done. Lebron James even loves wrestling!

Lebron James is an uneducated kid.... thus I would expect him to.

So are 70% of the population, unless there's some subtext here other than post-secondary education.

And there is nothing wrong with any of those people. Pixar movies are enjoyed by nearly everyone I thought. People need to open their minds a bit and stop trying to box things into this or that category.

What are your hobbies and and things you enjoy? I'm sure someone can find either one of them silly or Kiddie.

I don't get the point of knocking what someone else likes? I was told by someone that Game Of Thrones is just some fantasy junk that only geeks like. So what? I don't think it's true but I can see how someone can think that. Does it really matter? It doesn't. I enjoy watching and I be damned that I stop watching it and deprive myself of it to impress someone else

So what? People used to think that games were kid stuff and if you as a adult played games you need to grow up. Things changed on that front.

Also I assure you...there is probably not ONE...NOT ONE diehard wrestling fan that thinks it is real today. These are the main 'smark' guys that are following all the backstage news and looking for spoilers. Seriously, I don't think I've ever met one wrestling fan that thought it was real. Even the kids know it is fake.

I think some of us don't have to prove we are adults by only watching mature material. We can watch Wall-E or Finding Nemo, play Mario, and watch a NBA game and hell at least we've enjoyed ourselves instead of forcing ourselves to not watch or do something because some random person thinks "That's for kids."

Yeah -- that's pretty definitive. Ninth one down. Killer Kowalski. It's a shame he only lived to 81.

And right beneath him, Fabulous Moolah, only 84. WHY SO YOUNG??

    Speaking of young, Mae Young.

Also, plenty of people in there that died of cancer or non-drug related causes as well. So that's not really a good site for wrestlers who died young and/or of steroid/drug usage.

I'd echo this times a million.

To me, the condescending attitude toward people who like something that you don't get is much more childish than an adult liking wrestling could ever be. One of the first lessons I taught my kids is that people like different things, and there's nothing wrong with it.

My seven year old figured out the scripted aspect of wrestling before I even talked to him about it. He announced to me once that Kane and CM Punk probably have breakfast at Denny's together even though they were enemies on the show.

It's not that hard to figure out, and it's not that hard for most people to just enjoy what they enjoy and allow others to do the same. You don't have to get it, Nick. It's not like anyone here is insisting you become a fan. It seems to me you're the one walking into the middle of a group of people who enjoy something and telling them how dumb it is and to justify it.

    We don't really have to.
