Talented 76ers release PF Okulaja today, their 2000 pick, hoping before the beginning of the season will get some decent time on the floor and instead, he became a bench warmer. I wonder if Rudy will consider a little experiment of this dude in a rocket rosters, I'm sure he won't ask for much!Just a thought! What do you think? [IMG]

Now who got waived? I'd rather have Pervis Ellison, isn't he a PF? He could help us out. I think he can split time between PF and C.He's 6-10" and 242 LBS. Then again, seeing as he's hampered by injuries, let's not.

    ------------------
Francis out top, 9 seconds on the clock, he gives a no look pass to Cuttino Mobley, 4 seconds left, Mobley passes to an open Langhi in the corner with 1 second left! Langhi at the buzzer.......YES!!! How Sweet It Is!!

I was hoping to read this and not have to respond. But Okulaja? He is not NBA material period. How could you even suggest it? Rumor has it that he wants to play in Europe anyway, where he has been guaranteed 35 min. per game. So the 76'ers released him. It was a mutual thing.

Pervis Ellison? Good Lord, there is a reason he is traded, waived, and just cannot get any minutes even when he IS healthy.

He sucks. Yes, it is true.

Before the season start,Aldridge made a bold statement about this guy plays like Otis Thorpe.

Maybe Aldridge meant that Okulaju was much like Thorpe in the sense that both of them will be out of the league in a year or so.

He was waived at his request so he could go to Europe and play.

Okulaja is of Nigerian descent, I think, but is actually German or at least grew up in Germany so I got to watch him play a bit. He is not bad, but I don't think he has the potential to even be an average NBA player. A bit worse than someone like Kenny Thomas.

I would rather have him then Pig Miller, and maybe Hakeem could take him under his wing.
