Canaan reminds me of a young Terrell Brandon. Smallish but quick and deadly shooter. Very average defender

We probably aren't going to get a Sam Cassell type out of Canaan, but we just might get a Kenny Smith.

In either case, I am ecstatic Canaan is making a positive a impact. When we are down 75-73 to the Spurs in game 5 on the road in the 2nd round of the playoffs in a tied series and we desperately need a spark off the bench, Canaan will be there . . . and that's when we will know how good Canaan really is . . .

You guys forget Canaan has a 40 inch vertical (wow)... Can't wait till he catches someone under the goal and dunks on them. The kid can fly.

Canaan reminds me of an offense/defensive inverted slightly less fatbutt Kyle Lowry

With ease too. The more athletic Harden (sick handles, great shooting when he's on)

canaan probably won't see too many minutes in the playoffs if bev comes back, but his scoring punch could be an xfactor if needed!

Canaan can penetrate. He's leading the Rockets in points per minute on drives. He's second among perimeter players on Rockets in team points per drive at 1.26 team points per drive despite his high turnovers and difficulty finishing. Harden is first. Only Lin is driving more on a per minute basis for the Rockets.

As no team in the NBA is as efficient per possession as the Rockets are on Canaan drives, Canaan should keep penetrating. I suspect the high efficiency on drives is caused by free throws, not passing the ball to Asik, and small sample size. With more time, I expect his efficiency will go down some on drives, but free throws will keep it in the plus category.

It was garbage time but Canaan made several great passes that were bobbled and had several strong drives. He looked very fast going to the hoop.

Canaan can shoot, given the tiny sample size

I think Canaan if he can mature (i.e. get a whole lot better) might serve as a better back-up to Harden than as our 3rd string pg.

Who knows though. He's really young. I didn't watch garbage time. I mean, that was basically a dleague game in the 4th qtr.

IMHO Morey drafted Canaan to shoot. The starting line up does not need anymore players to shoot, but every bench in the NBA can use a great shooting guard. Morey drafted Canaan as a situational bench player, and it was a great pick. I actually can see Canaan coming off the bench and providing 10 points in three minutes in the playoffs. But Canaan is years away from being a starting guard in the NBA. Especially on a Rockets team that features Harden at the other guard spot.
