If... We make it to the second round any thing can happen, it depends how both teams look going in. In my opinion I think we CANT beat a complete Spurs team but if they are missing some pieces then I really believe it can go either way, and I like those chances better than facing the Clippers or Thunder.

I feel we can, Duncan get exposed by Dwight most times we go versus them.

It's the 3 point shooting I feel will kill us. We don't guard the 3 well, and Spurs hit their 3's.

SA? I see Portland taking us to 6 or 7 games before anything else.

We're underdogs playing against SAS, but we match up significantly better than against OKC or the Clippers.

So will we? It's not probable. Can we? With some luck, yes.

Depends. If they face Memphis in Round 1 and take a physical beating in the process of defeating them, then maybe they'll be softened up enough for the Rockets to knock them off. I just have a feeling that we're a year away still. Next season the Spurs' core will be a year older and even less athletic, while we'll hopefully have a better bench and more experience and can finally close that gap.

I really think we do, it won't be easy, but i think we're gonna end Tim Duncan's era. Just like Stockton ended Olajuwon's

The Spurs will be disappointed and finally break up their team.

Currently the only team within the top 4 I see a realistic chance of us beating. The Spurs while consistently good and great at execution, struggles with containing athletic players, which is why Terrence seems to go off every time on them. We need PBev, Terrence and Dwight to use their athleticism to expose the holes in the Spurs' much-vaunted defense. Ham may be of some use in this series as well if we manage to get past the jailblazers.

For the Rockets to win it would definitely take seven games, IMO. And the odds would still be in SA's favor. What we need to see is DH and Beverly back on the court ASAP. Limping into the playoffs just won't cut it. They'll want to be clicking on all cylinders and make quick work of Portland. No more than five or six games. Can't afford to be knocking off rust or figuring things out in the first round.

What does this poll have to do with LOFs? Anyway...I think we definitely have the best chance to beat SA over the Thunder and Clips...unless of course, Pop outcoaches Mchale...

The Spurs lose to athleticism and youth. See OKC 2yrs ago. Back then OKC had no experience of success but they pummeled the Spurs with their speed in transition, their ability to slash to the rim at will, and their James Harden.

Everyone remembers Harden sucking against Miami, but he was also their MVP against San Antonio. He is a veritable Spurs Killer. Add to that the "48 minutes of rim protection" we'll have when Dwight gets back and you realize that we have more than a shot. We aren't the fans who should be scared. Spurs fans should be scared to face US. Sure Popovich is better than McHale, and this year might represent his finest work yet but he's gonna have to coach his ass off to account for the talent disparity between these two teams.

Yes I said it. In spite of the win differential, the Rockets are the more talented team. We have the two best players, defensive specialists at guard and center where San Antonio had none, and the playoffs are where the NBA starts to select for superstars over teams. Thanks David stern.

I'm legit afraid of OKC and the Clippers. They have superstars. They have more experience. And they have whupped us so far. But not San Antonio.

The Rockets have a better shot of beating the Clippers than the Spurs. The coaching, experience, execution and defense of the Spurs is very difficult to overcome.

I would give the Rockets a 33% chance of beating the Clippers and a 20% of beating the Spurs.

Hopefully getting out of round 1 and having a hard fought close second round series is a good season for the Rockets.

We will beat them if the Suns make them run a lot in the first round, then they'll be tired when they play us and we'll tire them out even further.

I agree, although they may squeeze one or two out…Rockets in 5 or 6
The Clips and OKC are a different story…

Dont blow big leads, keep the foot on the gas pedal, team defense and things will be fine against any team. For me the Rockets are the most unpredictable team in the playoffs.

The rockets really match up well with the spurs. The rox really gear-up for the spurs and seem to play so inspired and cohesively against them.

Now that the rox are more experienced as a squad compared to when they racked up the prev 3 wins - I'm really pumped about this. The upcoming game will be big IMO if we sweep them ........clipper vs rocket style:eek:

The notion that the spurs will take it to a new level in the playoffs as if their coaching and defense will ratchet up and overcome their age and lack of athleticism is absurd to me.

Having said that the rox will need d12 and Patman reasonably healthy and James harden needs to be ON along with limiting turnovers. I like our chances.
