I'm going to guess he was either insubordinate with Mark Jackson in some way or leaked confidential, internal organizational material. Or maybe some combination of the two like trashing Jackson to someone outside the team.
Probably something unforgivable, you know, like cheating on his wife with a stripper while being a pastor. Something like that.
That whole organization seems helter-skelter, and Mark Jackson is the Ringmaster of that whole circus. My guess...He didn't put the toilet seat down.. ....... ....... .......
Must have been pretty egregious to fire him right before the playoffs On another note, are Scal or this dude viable replacements for Sampson?
It is a really really bad sign when someone gets dismissed for cause. It might be a while before he gets another job.
So what exactly did Erman do to warrant an immediate firing? The suspense is killing me. Perhaps he's under a gag order, so he won't be able to talk about it on 60 minutes or Nightline.
My guess is that it isn't something that'd look bad to the public, but would look bad to rank-and-file employees in the company. Something like p*rnography on a company computer. I had a boss once who was up-and-coming in the company, golden boy of the finance department for whom they made up a new award so they could honor him at the Christmas party -- fired 2 months later for p*rnography on his work computer. Sometimes, you don't want to fire someone, and you don't think what he did was really all that bad, but you worry the other employees will see you for a hypocrite if you don't follow through on policy.
