A win tonight would say a whole lot about what kind of team we have

if mobley plays, we have a much better chance of winning.

If not, i dont really think we will win. Losing steve really hurts!

How long will he be out?

    DaneB -
I agree. Moochie and Shandon are very capable. Since last season, I have felt Moochie can drive and dish with the better PG's - tonight we might get to see it.

I've seen enough of the 3 guard offense to last me awhile. I want to see Dream, Mo AND KT on the floor at the same time. In fact, a Dream, Cato, & Bullard front court might be a nice change of pace.

Dream will score 30+ points & have double digit rebounds tonight. The Dream is still alive. [IMG]

If both Mobes and Stevie sit out tonight, it should be interesting to see how Rudy distributes the line-up tonight. Will Moochie play all 48 minutes? Or will someone like Walt or Shandon play some point, seeing as Francis, Mobley and Moochie (does anyone refer to him as 'Norris') are the only players on our team really capable of playing the point. It will also be cool to see how the Rocks play with a bigger line-up, which Rudy T will be forced to put on for some duration of the game. We all know he loves the small-ball, but maybe if we go big, dividends can be made and more options can be opened for the team during the season.

Shandon and Dream are going to have big nights - I can feel it. There will probably be some more 'Mo, tonight as well.

The ankle injury has Francis out -- Mobley questionable with a hyperextended elbow

    Guarded condition

Rockets guards Cuttino Mobley and Steve Francis are expected to play tonight against the Spurs, but both are dealing with minor injuries.

The biggest concern is Mobley, who hyperextended his left elbow in Saturday's 102-100 loss to Denver. His elbow was wrapped in ice following Monday's practice.

"I kept shooting on it and going to the cup, and it was hurting real bad (Sunday), so I tried to rest it," Mobley said. "(Monday) I tried to play on it, and it was hurting. I'm real beat up, but that won't keep me out of the game."

While driving to the basket isn't a concern, Mobley said his ability to shoot from the outside might be.

"I'll just go to the cup," he said. "I did the same thing against Vancouver when I messed up my wrist. I went to the cup in the second half and nobody knew (I was hurt). Hopefully, San Antonio won't catch on that I can't shoot from the outside."

Francis, meanwhile, underwent treatment on his sprained right ankle Sunday and said after Monday's practice that he felt great. Francis suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of Saturday's game.

Sane -- that is this morning's Chronicle. What I posted is after that. Francis will not play in tonight's game, and Mobley is questionable - the Rockets announced this.

Since Bush says thatwe must put politics behind us and work together to make the promise of America available for every one of our citizens, wouldn't part of that promise of America be having your vote counted???

If nothing else, this game should be interesting to see what kind of point Moochie can play when he gets starter's minutes. Some nights he looks like he could go for 10+ assists, and on others...

It'll be interesting to see Shandon in the game with Mooch at the point as well, as opposed to the Mooch, Steve, Cuttino - 3 guard lineup. I'm curious to see if Mooch can get Shandon involved.

Of course, Cato needs to see some more minutes as well as he tries to work himself back into shape.

And to think, my initial reaction to the news that Steve was out and Cuttino was questionable was "why watch?" I guess I've answered my own question.

BTW-Did Cuttino hurt himself while passing the ball, trying to get his teammates involved? Because you know he doesn't think about scoring, just creating opportunities for others... [IMG]

Brilliant, Mobley. They'll never catch on to you now. I guess they're all illiterate in San Antonio. [IMG]

THAT'S WHACK! Dimples ain't votes! If Al Gore really wanted 'every vote counted' then how come he wanted to throw at the over seas ballots???
