That was three starters out; and a fourth who plays (close to) starter minutes getting whistle-stopped. However, it would be nice to see someone actually stand-up and out.
When you are relying on players 9-12 to be in the rotation, the chances of looking good are pretty low. DD
I just can't get on the "not much to play for" train. I sure hope the team doesn't have that misguided mentality.
There is definitely a communication problem with this team and I am not sure if i missed it, but there were no real plays being made and at times I did not even see McHale writing up plays to adjust to the Net's defense and offense. The only time the coach really reacted was when he got the technical. I also hated how DMo got into foul trouble and was taken right out.. what was the point of that? I was actually surprised to see Lin and Parsons kind of going at it after a play where Lin drove to the basket and Parsons was open for a three. Also the turnovers I saw were just non excusable.. so sloppy and bad communication. Lin is just disappointing these days, and passes up on some wide opened shots. I was watching Lin during warmup and he was making his shots so i think it is a mental thing or maybe he is trying too hard to setup for other players. I do have to say that the Nets looks like a solid playoff team and Rockets being short-handed, it was a tough game to win overall. Don't blame Cannan, he actually is a decent player and can defend well.
I think Lin tries too hard to get his assist numbers up. (Understandable since he is a PG, on paper anyways, and need that avg to be at least respectable). Canaan wasn't stopping anyone out there since he was undersized and DWill could post him up.
