I thought it was a joke but the story itself is in fact on the Daily News main page.

If this article is true, my guess is, it would be just some disgruntled employee trying to milk some money out of the Rockets.

Of course it's Jeremy Lin's fault. Didn't he start WWII? ;)

    Sounds like a shakedown.

If the guy thinks he was SO mistreated, then why sue the Rockets? Why not the Nets? Or Barclay's center? Or the Restaurant? Or his manager?

Sounds to me like he tried to shake folks down, they told him to take a walk, and so he went "public" with the lawsuit to damage the public image of the Rockets.

If you have a legitimate suit of this kind, you sue *EVERYONE* with deep pockets, Especially your direct employers (hostile workplace). Suing a team in a completely Different state that is not even your employer makes Zero sense.

If this guy had anything resembling a case, I'm betting it would never had reached the light of day. It would have been quietly covered up, he would have been paid off, and he would have disappeared into the woodwork.

If he was the type of person to Not be paid off, he would be suing a LOT more people than just the Rockets.

I put the probability of this guy being credible at <10%.

Doesn't it say he is suing because the caterers stopped assigning him to the players' area, which is a more lucrative gig.

I can't say for sure this happened, but there's plenty of homophobia in locker rooms (or so I am told) -- and plenty on fan forums as well. For crying out loud, until this year (with Jason Collins) there wasn't a single out gay on a major American team sport. It's pretty remarkable that it took that long, since surely there are dozens who are closeted at any given time. Clearly the atmosphere is so oppressive that they don't feel they can come out.

Kudos for Brooklyn for implementing sensitivity training. Have the Rockets done that? Does anyone know?

Yes, players are indeed very perspective.

They are also very point of view.

I hate to burst the collective bubble of stupid, but you cannot sue someone for simply calling you a f*****. Unless the Rockets were his employer or employing him in some manner...

This is silly. How can you sue someone for calling you a name? That's insane. Well I guess you can sue for anything but winning, yeah I don't see it. The Rockets weren't the employer, they were the customer.

This is such BS. I don't support sexual harassment but this lawsuit is absurd. If someone SAYS something you don't like walk up and confront them about it. Don't sue them.

Kudos? It isn't that hard.... The GM walks in and says: "You call someone a f@g and you will be heavily fined and suspended."

They are grown men, they don't need sensitivity training and I doubt they really care to be educated.

Well, I don't really know about the legal issues here. If he lost money because of the decision that the Nets made after he reported the incident, maybe they should be sued too. Maybe he doesn't have grounds to sue the Rockets. I'm not a lawyer and haven't read precedents on these kinds of harassment cases.

But it would hardly surprise me if this event happened, and blaming him by saying that he should have confronted the players is ridiculous. People shouldn't have to put up with harassment at work. Period.

Clearly, the NBA environment isn't gay friendly, or players would have long ago been coming out. So this kind of thing probably goes on frequently. Yes, GMs need to take a strong stand on this, but sensitivity training is also in order. And yes I give some credit to the Nets for hiring Collins and pushing sensitivity training.

My guess for the players is Chandler Parsons and Carlos Delfino.
