A combination of 6 Rockets wins and Blazers losses locks up the 4th spot. Seems pretty easy, but it isn't. Portland's remaining schedule is a joke and they're playing well in the 3 games since Aldridge returned. The Rockets better win at least 2 out of their next 4 or else home court will actually start to be in doubt.
2.5 lead over Portland for the 4th spot. We need to show our grit and win these games..... also seems like it gets a little easy, since Lowry will most likely be out when we play tomorrow against the Raptors.
So you're saying the Rockets can go 6-3 and take this out of Portland's hands. In my mind now Portland (and GSW) are fighting each other for the right NOT to play the Clipps in the first round. Getting Houston has to seem like a goal worth striving for at this point given how the Clippers are playing.
Should be a loss with our injury woes and the way Brooklyn's been playing these last two months, 10pts minimum deficit.
6-4 actually, but yes. Hopefully the Rockets don't make it interesting and are able to wrap this up soon.
Not worried about losing home court. We also have the tiebreak over Portland. I think we are locked into 4th spot. My bigger concern is Portland holding down the 5th spot. Rather face the Blazers than the streaky Warriors.
If Jeremy Lin never jumps into the air again with no idea with what to do with it for the rest of his career then I'll be a slightly happy person who watches basketball. That or please bring back Bev.
Big game today no dwight/bev vs no ak47/KG but if recent history suggests against any of the New York based franchises we will crush em. Edit: stupid tjones out Aprils fools thread
The Nets have struggled against fast transition teams all season. As long as we push that we should be fine. While the Nets have a very good record this season, even without Dwight and Bev I think we're a significantly better team that *also* matches up well. And without Dwight we're actually even *faster* than normal. Should be a good game. Not a sure bet to take down the Nets, but I definitely think the Rockets are favored.
I hope your right, I have a rather large incoming monsterary investment if we get up. Got 2.36 on the win
Widespread belief in Portland is that Houston is their worst matchup. They would prefer to play the Clippers.
thats crazy, they have owned us in previous years by memory and should of won on our home court a couple of weeks ago in a game the fans think the refs gave to us. Why would POR fans not want to play us instead of the clips.
Probably because Portland is terrible at stopping scoring in the Paint. They currently allow the 3rd most points in the paint in the NBA. http://www.teamrankings.com/nba/stat/opponent-points-in-paint-per-game They have nobody to match up against Dwight or even Asik, and Harden, Lin, Parsons and TJones can pretty much drive at will their terrible perimeter defense. Lillard's perimeter defense is by far among the worst of PG's in the NBA among the western play off teams. He makes Lin look like an NBA 1st team defender when it comes to slowing down guards. Not to mention, Lin and Beverley have both made Lillard's games very difficult in our previous match ups. So yes, I can see why they would view the Rockets as their worst match up.
