It'll be interesting to see if the Spurs can keep that streak going. Including tonight's game: @IND, GS, @OKC, MEM, @DAL, PHX, @HOU. 7 out of 9 of their remaining games are playoff caliber teams.
Indy just played last night and they looked terrible..pretty sure Spurs take it. Warriors without their starting frontcourt plus it will be the 2nd night of a back to back for them. I think OKC will end their streak.
I don't see OKC or the Warriors on the schedule tonight I would just as well the Spurs win. We will not catch them in any case. But there is that remote chance that we see Indy in the finals, and we are only 1 game back in the loss column.
Truly. There are times that it really irritates me, aside from when we play them (I always like our chances), because my brother-in-law has great season tickets and has had bragging rights for a while now. The "Great Scola Theft" has come and gone. Mad Max is a gleam in an old timer's eye. Meanwhile, the Spurs just keep on winning and contending. It'll be weird when Pop retires. San Antonio can't keep this up forever. Can they?
I was referring to the post above me talking about the Spurs upcoming schedule. I think they beat the Pacers today and Warriors on Wednesday but lose at OKC to end their streak.
No, they've got one more year and that's it. Duncan won't play into his 40's. Manu ain't what he used to be. And Parker is looking for one more huge payday which may not even come with the Spurs. Unless Pop is prepared to intentionally throw away another season in order to land the next great #1 pick like he did in 1996-97, I imagine he and Duncan will leave the organization after 2015.
Nope it comes down to players. Look at the Jazz with Stockton and Malone they basically NEVER missed the playoffs for like two decades. Once those guys retired the team hit the lotto even with Sloan coaching. Once Duncan retires it will be the same. Pop runs a great system but ultimately talent >>>>>>>>>> coaching in the NBA.
The Spurs are far enough ahead in the standings that they can rest all starters from here on out, without giving up the #1 seed.
