Harden TO 3.7 (1st in SG) Howard TO 3.3 (2nd in C) PARSONS TO 1.9 (12th SF) Lin TO 2.4 (19 in PG), LIN PER48TO 29th, CANNON PER48TO 12th
What was this by the way? Like seriously, what was this? This play literally had me laughing in pain last night.
Yea, that play really pissed me off. I like him being aggressive, but that wasn't it at all. He took a bad shot when his teammates were open. The guy just has a terrible basketball IQ and makes poor decisions over and over and over.
Forgot to provide links for my post on the previous page. The data was taken from Jeremias Englemann's website. Jerry is the stats guru that created the xRAPM metric. The site was last updated March 24, 2014. Pure RAPM: http://stats-for-the-nba.appspot.com/ratings/2014.html xRAPM: http://stats-for-the-nba.appspot.com/ratings/xRAPM.html
That's what happens when you have a player not playing in the flow and is stuck in a personal mental battle and trying to fight through it during the game. He was overthinking and second guessing himself and it's nothing new with most players not only Lin...but Lin seems to be susceptible to this a lot more. However having said that, you can pull out similar footage with about anyone who has had a bad game i.e. Harden, Parsons etc.. I think you need to stop pointing your microscope on Lin
Harden's XRAPM 13-14 off 6.1 , def 2.6, O+D 3.5 http://stats-for-the-nba.appspot.com/ratings/2013.html 12-13 off 6.0, def 0.9, O+D 5.1 Does Harden get worse this year? I don't think so.
ehh, don't really have that much of an issue with it, Lin frequently just dribbles around then jacks a shot when he's switched on a big, he either makes it or he doesn't got more of an issue with him just being flat out r****ded, I hope for the sake of the Rockets Beverley just trims the meniscus (selfish I know), cause Lin is just way too eratic. Yes his averages are fine 13/4 or whatever they are, but he usually clumps together **** games and good games in succession and I'm leaning towards the former come playoff time
well he did have a huge mismatch too bad he doesn't have a reliable jumper, because that's how Steve Nash used to abuse the hell out of switches.
I didn't think that was a bad decision to shoot that ball. He has been making those shots this year. It just didn't go in. A better decision in my view would've been to either go straight up for the layup and force a foul, or once he went around to the other side of the paint, stop, pop and drop a 12 footer or go back right at the basket and see if he can put up a shot, get a pump fake or get the defense to collapse so he can dish to a 3 pt. shooter. I think that's about studying film and executing a game plan against more athletic paint defenders like the Clippers. A lot of that performance had to do with the Clippers D', not his lack of aggressiveness or decision making. They made great plays. Willie Green made it hard for James Harden to get to his spots. I've seen the Spurs play this way defensively for years when they were younger and more athletic. This will be a good learning experience for Lin now that he is the starter for the remainder of the season. He'll adapt.
I noticed this these stats too, even without checking numbers I know Howard and Harden have way more turnovers just by watching the game...as someone pointed out, the GARM has become insane, dont lose your mind over all the dumb posts on CF
It is a strange way of Harden's play here. He literally just walked out of the view, not sure where he is going, and his man basically left him, and go block the drive way. Not sure whether he want the ball from Jeremy or not, as he did not make himself available either. Basically at that time, it is a 4 on 5 offense. The shot clock is down to 5 sec, and Jeremy do not have drive lane, and no other player is moving, and he had a mismatch, so that is this option at that time then.
watching the video showed me a play that was not nearly as bad as what the comments implied. it actually reminded me of what Harden would do last season where his iso jumper was not nearly as reliable as it is now.
Yeah gimme a break. That particular play wasn't that bad. He has a good jumper, the shot just didn't go down. He should have tried a bit closer than a long 2 or try for a layup.he had a mismatch and tried to capitalize.
it wasn't that bad of a play, He had the mismatch, but no one was moving and shot clock was down to 5. He panicked and didn't even try to beat Deandre off the dribble and took a really long two out of rhythm. He probably makes that shot if he was closer to the basket or was more patient with it
This part always makes me laugh, especially when it comes from a LoF or Lin Fan. It's just like.... hey, who do you think put the freaking microscope on Lin to begin with? If you want to blame someone for that, blame the LoF's that ruined the board and ruined how fans outside of LoF's have started perceiving him.
