Exactly. This is that downside for the team, and us, the fans...while Les is still making 100's of millions in the Far East.
They said I couldn't finish with my left hand. They said I couldn't shoot. They say your not smart enough on the court. They said I didn't tap those girls in the hotties thread. Clutchfans what fuels you.
It doesn't make McHale stupid if he decides to do that. Roles and fit are important. Look at OKC when Sefolosha was hurt... they skipped straight to Roberson for the starting lineup in order to keep Reggie Jackson as their 6th man. Canaan looked good last night but had some obvious inexperience mistakes. It was certainly an encouraging debut. My biggest problem with Lin lately is that he isn't scoring like he used to when Harden is on the bench. In the last two weeks or so, whenever Harden has gone to the bench our offense grinds to a complete halt. Worrell has probably said "now who is going to score for this unit" lately when Parsons and Lin are trying to create more frequently than he has at any point in his career. Lin just hasn't been aggressive enough in that situation.
hmm good points...a couple things i would say is 1. I actually think Canaan can be that explosive bench scorer, he looked pretty good last night...he would be more comfortable dominating the ball when trashpi and garcia are on the floor with him 2. Mchale shouldn't sit Lin and Harden at the same time which he did last night. I think thats when the offence went cold. 3. He should not play parsons 45 minutes....
Its pretty sad, but I think Beverley/Canaan would be the optimum one-two punch with our point guards. The system does not work for Lin. He needs that D'Antoni system.
Even with D'Antoni he would be inconsistent now because he's not a new and unexpected type player... teams know how to handle Lin.
Wow. Just wow. "Lin doesn't even belong in the nba." "Jackie Chan 2.0" I've browsed this forum for a long time. The overall level of intelligence has dropped off a lot and the amount of racism has increased. I call it the rise of the potato chip eating, video game playing, mouth breather crowd. Is Lin inconsistent? Yes. Does he belong in the nba and have a good amount of potential? Hell yes. As for the original post, I would definitely give Lin more time to see how he does. He is finally healthy. Lets see what he can do before we crucify him after 1 start.
That is derogatory towards chip eating, video game playing, mouth breathers. I wish you could leave your personal attacks at home, and not bring such hate to the internet. PS Lin sucks
You cannot be serious although I'm sure you are. A young Mugsy Bogues would be perfect for this team. That being said, Canaan plays nothing like Bogues. Canaan is like Aaron Brooks lite.
Little question--Lin will be replaced by Canaan. I suggest you begin preparing excuses for why Lin will not be responsible.
does he belong in the nba- yes does he have alot of potential- no. It's pretty obvious he is what he is. He isnt gonna become more athletic all of the sudden. He isnt going to be able to play his style any time soon.
Lin was horrible. Hope Canaan keeps it up. No changes to lineup for now. Too early. A few more games like this and it's a different story. Chances is that's not going to happen. Lin is going to bounce back. Hope Canaan continue to be productive, gain experience and learn to reduce the TO.
It is very much a knee jerk reaction. Lin had a bad game and Canaan had a good showing in his first opportunity with decent minutes. That's all that has happened. Nothing more, nothing less. If it continues for 2 weeks, then yes, we can talk about Canaan becoming the starting PG. Canaan shot the ball better than Lin last night. That was it. He was still a -7 on the stat sheet and actually had 4 TOs to Lin's 3. And just for the record, Harden led all Rockets with 6 TOs.
Lin is just a lesser version of Harden, and as such does not really fit in with the starters. His strengths are already covered by Harden, and his weaknesses are nearly the same, yet Harden is a much better player - so he is the guy you keep. Honestly, Lin probably should get moved this offseason, to a team that fits him better, and the Rockets can get a piece that fits with Harden and Howard better. As it is - we will cheer for everyone until that day. DD
I agree, except I can't see him getting traded this off season--because what team would want his balloon payment?
