I would expect Yates to be the first cut, the real competition will be between Keenum and Fitz, but I think Fitz's contract will pretty much ensure a roster spot for him unless he's just god-awful. I think Keenum is either one of the last cuts or he'll be penciled in as the 3rd QB behind whoever is drafted.

this would be an excellent signing if we can keep the money reasonable. He's only 28, he's stayed healthy, and he's a true free safety. No one's gonna confuse him for Earl Thomas, and i wish he had better ball skills, but he's a solid player. With Manning, Clemons, and Swearinger; as well as Keo, Kendrik Lewis, and Eddie Pleasant for depth; we'd be set at the safety position. It also makes Manning expendable next year. I hope this comes to fruition.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Free agent safety Chris Clemons is visiting Texans today. He played at Miami.</p>— John McClain (@McClain_on_NFL) <a href="https://twitter.com/McClain_on_NFL/statuses/449568702757736449">March 28, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
McClain: Texans with six safeties now. (Chris Clemons, Shilo Keo, Kendrick Lewis, Danieal Manning, Eddie Pleasant, Jawanza Starling, D.J. Swearinger, Steven Terrell---McClain not really counting Starling and Terrell) As I posted in the Clemons thread: Doesn't bode well for Manning(roster spot) and Keo(as a starter) At $6 mil, he got to take a pay cut or be gone. If cut, expect him to end up in Tampa with Lovie Smith. Trade down rumor with Buffalo: Why would they trade to nine? Why are they "trying hard now" when they don't even have final grades? Manziel Pro Day: Texans didn't see anything they hadn't see in person or on film. Is (Manziel) in the mix? Heck ya. Doing my first mock draft, I'll have them taking Manziel, then Bortles and then I'll rotate them. (Sounds like he thinks it will be between Bortles and Manziel) Despite what was reported, Bob McNair won't be at Clowney's Pro Day. Only person not impressed (with Manziel's Pro Day) was Mike Zimmer. Some guys aren't smart or don't have good coaches. They have a QB fanatic in O'Brien and the second-most patient owner. 3rd year sophomores don't start right away. I believe Fitz will start the season and won't rush the guy(again mentioned Bortles or Manziel) until he's ready. O'Brien has a certain type of QB based on QBs he has coached or recruited in the past? Every where he has coached, he has had a short QB except Georgia Tech, Maryland, Duke. Brady was already in NE. Belicheck drafted Mallett. McGloin was 6 foot or a shade under. Hackenberg, recruited him not because he was 6'4 but because he was/is a good QB. Everybody would love to have big, talented fast players at every position. (O'Brien) wants a guy who is smart, can process, is accurate, and is a football junkie. That's one thing Manziel has to convince him of. When he's through at 7:00, he's going to watch film, not going to Rockets games. These QBs have to convince Bill and their coaches that they're football junkies. Tall QBs? Everyone loves tall QBs. Deal breaker? Absolutely not. O'Brien said Arian is a back that doesn't come off the field. That backup RB is a priority. You have to get someone capable of starting & relieving (Arian). You bring in small backs, they can't pick up the blitz. You don't want Sproles picking up a blitz. I think they'll sign a vet. That will be a priority in the draft but not in the first three rounds. I believe Rick Smith will trade the first pick in the second round and could get a two and a three or a three and a three. I think they'll have another back by the 4th round with the 4th round pick or the compensatory 4th and they'll sign a FA. There will be backs not drafted. You won't hit pay-dirt like Arian again but you could bring in someone who fills a role. A backup has to be a full-time guy. No one will bet Arian stays healthy for 16 games. Willis McGahee? Old Ronnie Brown? No. Donald Brown? (Jim Brown against the Titans, Donald Brown against everyone else. McClain forgot but reminded he signed with San Diego.) DeSean Jackson? No. They have two starting receivers. Of course Jackson has talent. Bob doesn't want a pattern of bad behavior. When things go bad, those guys are the first one to point fingers and become cancers. There is a pattern with Jackson.
This is the dumbest comment. So he says that O'Brien has had a short QB everywhere he's coached and then lists the exceptions which include everywhere he's coached aside from 1 QB at Penn State. And yeah, he inherited Brady but he also inherited McGloin. I'm sure O'Brien doesn't have a problem with a short QB if he has confidence in him, but I'm not sure what point McClain is trying to make here.
Titans RB Chris Johnson? Yeah, CBS Sports reported he'll likely be released and the Titans beat writer speculated he'll end up in Atlanta.

Terrance Cody? Or maybe Kevin Williams (Vikings) an old vet but could provide good depth. Also Robert Ayers is still available though the rumors say he's going to the Bengals.
I don't know what kind of money he will command but as a slot receiver, speed back and emergency replacement he would be very valuable to the Texans. The best thing he could do would be to limit Foster's carries.
He hasn't played full out in 3 seasons. Who wants a guy like that. Will be interesting to see if a change of scenery can reinvigorate CJ2K.
With Foster reportedly being 100% healthy and many other holes on the team I would rather they delegate what little money they have left elsewhere and fill the RB need in the draft.
Couldn't figure out which thread this fit in. There's actually no official 2014 NFL draft thread.
