I said the usage and treatment is not comparable. But even Harden can have an off shooting night. Its just that the ref can help him out with star calls.

If at first you don't succeed, redefine success.

    —Unknown

Moving the goalposts is an informal logical fallacy in which previously agreed upon standards for deciding an argument are arbitrarily changed once they have been met. This is usually done by the "losing" side of an argument in a desperate bid to save face. If the goalposts are moved far enough, then the standards can eventually evolve into something that cannot be met no matter what. Usually such a tactic is spotted quickly

He is great in the offense but avg to below avg on defense which he needs to work on. If this continues in the playoff, team is going for a second round exit. Hopefully he can work on it and improve next year. No way is he better than CP3 or Durant at this point. Those are super stars that has an impact on ends and can lead the team to a championship.

You do know that the 1-8 for 4pts was a stat from PBev right?

So those 6 free throws, including the meaningless 2 in garbage time, that really did it for you huh?

Did Collison play the whole game? I wonder why? That Doc Rivers sure knew what he was doing putting him out there the whole game. He has so many schemes and plays up his sleeves Mchale seemed to be out coached every time.

I see Lin had a bad statistical game (1-9 FG, but 8-8 FT). There are people defending him and some people hating on him. I'm not in the locker room nor do I know how it is to be in an NBA locker room or environment. But if Lin doesn't have confidence, who can blame him? Some players need their roles to be defined very clearly. Some may argue that Lin was the designated "6th Man / Super Sub who needs to score".

I think he was doing ok early but struggled a bit and an injury knocked him out a bit. Plus it seems he doesn't get consistent minutes. I'm not going to be a hater but McHale doesn't let Lin work through stuff sometime. I watched Lin's old highlights from Harvard against UCONN. Lin started 0-4 but then suddenly was 8-14 at some point during the game. I think Lin needs to get a feel for the game and adjust accordingly.

Today he played 32 minutes so did he get his chance? Maybe. But his role is now a started and once again he needs to adjust his game to being a PG (or SG if Harden handles).

All in all, I think Lin will be much better than some people expect. I am surprised at how much hate there is. If you let Lin play PG as he should, I think the team will be fine. Harden can play off ball more and handle a little less, the Rockets may be better off.

The reason he is not playing point guard is because he can't do it. He just makes too many bad decisions.

    Exactly.

Some people choose delusion over the truth, it is clear as day to anybody watching. In its most basic form, the job entails being conservative with the ball and being able to make open jumpers.

    ...

He can't even seem to provide that.

no Howard, no Harden, Clippers with full roster.

How did the rockets win that game?

    Defense is the reason.

Clippers are just so much better this year than last, you just can't compare those games. I can't tell you how much difference having a non-horrible coach makes; and having an excellent one in Doc is just icing on the cake.

We do _not_ want the 3rd seed.

    All going according to plan.

So can everybody calm down now.

We can focus on the next game. Who's up next?

Funny observation. One can tell how well or badly one player is playing
based on the number of posts in the GARM :).

Great analysis. And I'm with you on the 4th seed. Round 1 vs Portland or GS, Round 2 vs SAS. Hopefully one of the lower seeds can knock out Clips or OKC. Worst case, we'll face one of them in the western finals. I'll take that any day of the week, like you mentioned. :-D

Maybe not, but you were comparing Lin to Harden. Lin is no where near the talent level of Harden and he never will be, Harden has off nights every now and then but when he's not having an off night hes putting up 25+ on the third best efficiency in the league. Any comparison between Harden and Lin is ridiculous, Harden is just light years ahead.

    I remember that game.

Poster is right. It _was_ defense that won that game.

One of these days, Lin will have a terrible game and his fans will just say "Yeah, we love him but man he had a crappy game," and just leave it at that.

    Or maybe not.
